I need to enlarge and possibly change the colour of the fonts in the gallery on this page.

How do I do this please?

Image Gallery Captions Styling to Match Single Image

Hello!
My client would like the captions under gallery images to look just like the captions under single images.

I’m using my custom theme and I can get everything styled well-enough except for the fact that the display:absolute take the figcaption out of the flow and so it overlaps the content below it.

Has anyone ever tried this and come up with a solution? Thanks!

gallery title text wrapping

Hello there,
I am using the pro masonry gallery. I only have the image titles displayed in the gallery view, not the description. The image titles are generally long and the text is wrapping mid word. For example:

“This Is The Image Title”

would look like

“This Is The Im
age Title”

Is there a work around for this? Is it possible for the text to wrap without breaking up words?

Captions not appearing

I’m creating a new page with a gallery in it, but the image captions are not appearing. (Only the first two images there have captions so far.) I successfully created a gallery on a different page a while ago without this problem. (https://ecooptimism.com/?page_id=693)

Can anyone tell me what the problem is on the new page?

Captions in gallery photos not appearing

I’m setting up an image gallery for a page and it looks fine until I preview it. In the preview or when uploaded, the image captions drop out. I haven’t had this problem before (though I haven’t set up a gallery in a while), and there doesn’t seem to be any problem when I create a gallery for a post (vs a page). Any suggestions?

Limit characters of image captions

Hi.

Is it possible to limit the number of characters shown in gallery using “caption” template ?

I’m using the latest NextGen Gallery plugin and shortcode of [nggallery id=x template=caption]

Which creates captions under the thumbnails, but I’d like to limit the numbers of characters, shown under the image thumbnail, as some captions are longer than usual and then the whole layout seems weird.

Captions not showing in gallery grid?

I may have imagined this, but at one point, I thought I remembered WP showing captions in the gallery grid display. I do see the captions in edit mode, but not on the page. I switched to 2014 just to see if it was my theme. To complicate this, the theme I am using breaks the alt text popup as well.

I use WP 3.5.1 and the latest version of Suffusion theme. I created a gallery for a specific post with captions for each image using the create gallery option on the add media page from the post edit page. It displays as expected on the blog at https://www.ramblingbarba.com/photo-friday-28/

However, the captions do not display at all on the various readers I have checked. I notice in my feed (sample below)the caption is included in the feed with the “alt=” attribute and not the “caption=” attribute.

I used the shortcode for this.

Captions on individual images in other posts show up just fine. Here is a clip from the feed for a recent post https://www.ramblingbarba.com/jesus-street-cred/ :

I added a caption for the purpose of trying to figure this out. This is an individual image and not a gallery. The class=”wp-caption-text”>< is included therefore the caption is included in the feed and is displayed with the image in readers. This isn’t present with the gallery function so even though the caption is present in the feed it isn’t being displayed with the image.

Is the only way to have a post of images with captions to individually load images and captions without using the gallery option to get the mark up needed for the captions to display?

Close gallery image with one click?

Thanks for providing the NextGEN gallery to us! Sorry if this has been answered previously, I scrolled through several pages and haven’t seen the issue addressed.

I’ve installed the latest version of NextGEN on my friend’s WordPress hosted at Yahoo; all software up-to-date I think. When viewing gallery images ALT text says “Click to Close”, but clicking only closes the slideshow, leaving the image there. Then one must click on the X to actually close the image. Is there a way to close the gallery with only one click? The website in progress is at https://susiewinton.com, please see “2-dimensional” or “3-dimensional”.

I’m also interested to know if there is an automated way to return to the album page after viewing a gallery with that album. I haven’t poked around in the plug-in code yet, but for now it looks like we have to click on the page link from the menu or hit the Back button.

Something else I might find in the code… is there a way to remove the “number of photos” text? We might want to keep the number but since we’re not displaying “photos”, but images of artwork, we would like to change that.
