Widget Conditions – Won’t Display Widgets On Posts ‘Page’

Hi.

My website is currently private, as I am still working on it and will contain a login for various different users to access different areas of the WordPress.

This has not interfered in anything, but I am mentioning it incase anyone needs to actively view my WordPress at some point to see what is going on.

Currently:

I have a Static Homepage called ‘Home’ which is a page, which is the front page, and will contain different links for people to click on – employer, employee, subscriber etc. So currently ‘Home’ is not the main posts page.

I have a Static Posts page called ‘Posts’ which is a page, but which is not the front page, and will contain the main posts of my WordPress.

Plugins

Classic Editor
Classic Widgets
Conditional Widgets
Disable Embeds
Metaslider (not currently in use)
WP User Manager

Theme

The theme that I am using is Opulence by Pipdig https://www.pipdig.co/shop/wordpress-theme-opulence/

Features

As you can see on the featured theme above, there is an option for a featured slider. There are also additional options (not currently featured on that demo above) for Featured Categories, Featured Images etc.

On Customiser by default, the theme has it’s own options to feature these – but the widgets will only appear on the Front Page or Every Page – static page, posts or whatever is the default for the ‘Front Page.’

So I went under the Widgets section instead and tried to feature some other parts of the theme – Random Posts, Popular Posts, other installed plugin features etc.

These display successfully on the Front Page, but when I tick the Conditional Widgets box underneath each widget to ‘Hide on Front Page’ and ‘Show on Posts’ only, nothing appears. I must be doing this wrong, so could you please advise me?

I want to echo what has been said many times before: this is a fantastic plugin, showcasing a beautiful UI/UX and seamless integration into WordPress.

While navigating the settings, I spent 15 minutes trying to find the option to hide specific text on the front page. It didn’t occur to me to look under “Location,” and then “Page Type.” I likely would have encountered the same challenge with the 404 page as well, which is also found there.

It would be wonderful if this could be made more apparent, as I can’t be the only one who has faced this hurdle.

Aside from that, this is truly great work! The quality is exceptional!

confused about front page template

I am developing a site for my wife. I have used WP in the past for three different simple sites but decided this time to use FSE. Using the Bricksy theme on latest WP 6.2.2. with Woocommerce plugin. Problem is that I have used the Editor (Appearance/Editor) to insert a couple of pages aside from the Woocommerce pages except when I go to view the site it shows a “front page” based on my template but everything is different, the nav items and order is different, it shows a content block that does not exist on my “home” page, which it says I must not delete. The tagline beneath the site logo shows on this front page but not on my “home” page. So I am totally confused. I have looked at some youtube tutorials but none of them are clear about the template and front page – home page So I am stuck. Am I using the template system wrongly?

Working on a new site and I’ve forgotten how to delete the front page template because I just want to have a “real” page (Home) be set for the front page.

The Front Page is the only thing you can see on my site and I did not create it

The only changes that you can see on my site on the front end are My Header, My Footer, and the Front Page Template which I did not choose. I have followed the suggestions and gone to Settings>Reading> and changed the settings to Static Page and Home but this did not do anything, I even changed how the pages were published. The only way I can find the “Front Page Template” is go into templates or click view site.

My Navigation menu is not showing up on the “Front Page” and it does not seem to matter what I do to the other pages that I have tried to design. They do not show up at all. When I save edits and hit preview it takes me back to the “Front Page”. I have tried assigning that template to a page and it is not shown as an option.

I have been unable to actually build a website because the only thing that seems to exist on the front end is the “Front Page” and nothing I do matters. Sorry, I have spent so many hours on this and I know that it is probably something so simple it is going to blow my mind but I have not found a forum thread that has solved the Saga of an over Zealous Front Page! Not sure if you will be able to use the link as I am using a staging site and have things set to private because I do not want to mess up the one page website that I have in place (also using a Front Page and not affected by other pages or edits that I make to the website).

Someone please tell me what I am missing before I go find a job as a janitor!

Thank for this beautiful theme. Under Settings > Reading, “Your latest posts” has to be selected in order for the home page to display the front page elements., which is what I want. However, how do I display blog posts on a page I created entitled “Blog”? Or, how do I add a static page for my front page/ home page? Thank you for your help.

Front page no longer comes up, just site imdex

The page entitled “Reeds Central” was set as the front page, but now it just displays the site index. Is there a file missing or a setting that’s wrong?

Content in Template?

Hi all,
i try to build a static page in twenty twenty four.
No matter what i do, if i set any page to home (Startseite) it always shows me the template: Startseite and not my own content. I changed the template, when editing the page in the right sidebar, on another one i created. Doesn′t work.
Help forums and videos say: go to options / read / show: site xyz (did that) – seems easy but doesn′t work. That was the reason i created another template, that looked like my content page i want to have as front page, but all it shows is the Startseite Template that comes with 2024.

Do i have to put my content into the template? (Internet says no, but i cannot find another solution)

Static Home Page not showing only Front Page Template

Hi,

I went to settings -> reading and updated homepage to A STATIC PAGE but it doesn’t work. I see the title of the static page but the front page template still shows. How do I disable front page template?

I have searched for last hour and can’t find anything. I’m worried it just isn’t possible to have a static page. I need a static page for SEO and other functionality that template just doesn’t provide.

Please help:)

How to Create a Front Page and Blogs page

Hello,

Currently, I can edit the front page using the “Edit Site” option, and I can see the front page in the “Pages” section on the site editor.

However, I can’t see the front page in the “Pages” section on WordPress.

Therefore, I cannot set the front page and blog pages on the “Reading Settings” page. The front page does not appear in the static page list on the “Reading Settings” page.

When I add a static page named “Blog,” it does not automatically get the blog homepage template.

I have not been able to set the front page to the front-page template and also have a separate blog top page as a /blog page.

Can you specify the steps needed to achieve this?
