flash uploader for nextgen gallery is not working since 3.9.1 upgrade

Help! The flash uploader for Nextgen gallery plugin is not working since 3.9.1 WordPress upgrade. I have tried turning off all plugins, re-installing the plugin, checked on Safari, Firefox, Chrome, all with different user roles, and nothing is working. It was working perfectly before i upgraded to 3.9.1 The basic uploader does work, and I can upload via the FTP but can’t use the flash uploader, which is by far the more efficient workflow for my team of editors to upload galleries. Help anyone? Would really like to fix this!

When uploading a new image using the flash loader, I get the following messages:

The result is the file gets uploaded but there is no thumbnail when you look at the gallery, so all you can do is delete the image again. Note that I can upload the same file through Gallery, Add Gallery/Images.

I am running NextGen Gallery 2.0.21 PHP 5.3 and MySQL 5.0. mod_rewrite Apache module is active but have been unable to check yet the status of PHP Safe Mode. The permissions on wp-content is 755. It’s hard to determine if this ever worked as users only started uploading recently at the current levels of WordPress and NextGen.

How to disable Flash Uploader in v.2.00?

the Flash Uploader doesn’t work..

I want to switch to the normal uploader but I can’t see the button anymore.. How can I disable the Flash uploader?

Any help greatly appreciated!

File view doesn't refresh using flash uploader

When using the modal popup in the post edit screen to attach a file, the file view does not refresh when using the flash uploader. It does refresh and appear if I close the popup and reopen it.

This is what appears straight away if I use the browser uploader instead, but this appears blank with the flash uploader unless you refresh the popup:

hello .. I have been having this problem for weeks and tried many solutions … they are as follows
1. Tried resizing images using various methods .. use mostly optimised JPG files but have tried other kinds to see if it helps .. it doesn’t.
2. I have added code to the hcaccess file namely codes recommended for if module security, i.e. turn off sec filter etc .. (various versions are written below)
3. I have tried looking at the upload folder path to see if it is correct but cannot find this in wp 3.5.1..
4. I tried installing other flash uploaders but that didnt work ..

I do not have any problems uploading images to widgets or the header.
Occasionally the image does upload to the media library but only for a few goes than I get the http error in red again … and I cannot see why some work and some don’t …

I am a wordpress newbie and would really really appreciate simple language if you are kind enough to reply. I also am running the site in admin mode .. looking at it won’t tell you anything about the images ..

Flash Media Upload – Not Working

The flash uploader stopped working on my site, when I go to the Upload New Media only shows a greyed out “Cancel Upload” button.
