Find and Replace HTML Tags sitewide

Hey All

I’ve made a rookie error when making Pages for my website, basically I’ve used the

tags for formatting without realising the SEO value.

I now need to replace all the H1 tags with formatting tags but I don’t want to have to go through every single page to do this.

Looking into a ‘Find and Replace’ option I found I could export the XML for the pages, this would allow me to use a text editor to do the job, but apparently there is no way to import these changes back into my site without duplicating posts or having the posts ignored because they already exist?

Before I start messing about and breaking things I thought I’d ask what would be the best way of doing a find and replace on all these tags?

So simple to use! Nothing more irritating that downloading a plugin that you think does one simple thing only to find out it’s only on the Pro version or worse yet, it doesn’t actually do the thing.

I needed this for Find and Replace when changing a site over to https. This worked flawlessly. It even gives a free preview of the changes that need to be made. It did stall out the first time about 27% of the way in, however this is a large site and the table it was searching had over 200,000 changes to be made.

Adding this plugin to my toolbox. Will be using this again and will look more closely at the Pro version as I’ve been looking for a solid Migration plugin for other projects.

Find and Replace not replacing apostrophes (‘)

Love the plugin. I have the Pro version and I noticed I cannot replace the apostrophe (‘) in words. For example: Replace CAN’T to CANNOT. This doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong? Everything else works as expected. Thank you.

Hi there

Is there a plugin to do a find-and-replace operation with a shortened link that you recommend? Or are there plans to add the ability to find-replace to this plugin. I feel it’s a natural addition to the purpose of the plugin.

Oftentimes I’m making shortened URLs after the fact, where the unshortened links have already been used throughout the website. It’d be nice to be able to do a find-replace from within the plugin tools/dashboard or per link-view.
