Pro: Easy to add multiple FTP repositories, Managing/deleting backups straightforward, progress bar displays sufficient information. Clean-up feature finds corrupt backups.
The biggest Pro is that It does what I want, but at the expense of having to pay attention that ‘remote’ and the remote location is reviewed/update for each run.
Con: Took a lot of experimenting to find settings to limit number of zip files per backup, backups only identified by date/time (wish I could add location to list of backups), Backup settings default to local rather than last selected.
The biggest Con is I wish I could set up multiple jobs to go to different locations at different times. I will try the Pro license next to see if that is possible.
]]>Thanks in advance for any help.
Basically, I made a rookie mistake and made extensive changes to a parent theme (including php as well as style rewrites). My master plan was to simply copy everything over from the parent theme to the child theme and then then update my theme manually using the theme’s update changelog. I have recently been advised that this is a silly thing to do. Whoops.
My question: If I were to go in and establish which specific files I had edited and copy only those from the parent to the child theme directory in my ftp, would those files be overwritten on a theme update? To clarify: I would be directly copying the edited style.css, functions.php, header.php, sidebar.php, etc from the parent theme directory to the child theme directory and crossing my fingers.
If I am off the mark on this, I would really appreciate some advisement. I’m obviously not particularly well-versed with this facet of wordpress, and your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again and I look forward to your responses.
]]>i suppose we can keep the existing images on the live (old) db but need to figure out how to mass move them and assign them relative links ?
anyone know of other options.
]]>I’m trying to make this as simple as possible for people; so they can just go to mywebsite.com, click ‘upload files’, batch select all the images that they have on their computer and click go. The files would then be saved to a folder on my webspace.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to a plugin that will allow me to do this?
For the record, I don’t require the uploaded photos to be displayed after they are uploaded, and I don’t want people to have to log in to anything. It needs to be super simple – it’s just for me to collect all the photos
Thanks!
]]>OK so I have someone who has asked me for a website that does the following and I want to know if WordPress with plugins is capable of doing this:
Clients must have with their own profile
In their profile they must be able to do the following:
PASSWORD/PIN NUMBER STORAGE
DOCUMENTS, VIDEO AND PHOTO STORAGE SERVICE
FILES TRANSFER BETWEEN FAMILY/FRIENDS AND COMPANIES(BASICALLY OTHER PROFILES)
EXPAND TO MONEY TRANSFER BETWEEN PROFILES
Many thanks
]]>drag and drop would be sweet, we also need some sort of email sent to a defined list and a reply to the sender for confirmation. A progress bar would be helpful.
our remote site is a Linux box hosted in our facility we have standard FTP setup on that server. our WP site is running on a GoDaddy hosted Linux package.
Any thoughts?
