]]>I’m having some problems with the robots.txt file.
I want to disallow my website from being indexed as it is under development. I’m using yoast SEO which appears to have generated the robots.txt file. however, i cant edit it from within the plugin.
If i create a robots.txt file in the file manager its not overwriting the one that yoast SEO is generating?
I have seen on the wordpress support there is a line of code that disallows file editing.
define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true );
However this line of code doesn’t exist where it should be to prevent file editing? can anyone help me with this, i seem to be stuck in a loop!
]]>I have site hardening active but I keep getting the ‘to-do’ message: The built-in file editors are accessible to others.
When I click repair the option is already checked but I do see that I can indeed access the theme file editor inside WP.
How can I fix this?
]]>I was wondering if there was such an plugin that allows editing of PDF files or saving as a PDF file.
I want an image background that users can then edit the front end text to make changes and then save the image as a PDF file?

]]>I just noticed a weird issue on one of my sites.
I have set iThemes Security to disable the File Editor. My wp-config.php file reflects that setting:
define( 'DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true ); // Disable File Editor - Security > Settings > WordPress Tweaks > File Editor
// END iThemes Security - Do not modify or remove this line
However, on this one site, the Theme Editor and Plugin Editor are still present and usable despite this setting. I can’t figure out why; two other sites with similar configurations, also using iThemes Security and this setting, have the editor disabled as it should be, but this one somehow reappeared.
Any idea why the Disable File Editor setting might not be working? I’m very puzzled.
Thanks!
]]>I cannot save in the dashboard file editor. Appearance>File Editor.
When trying to save, I get this error – “Scrape nonce check failed. Please try again”.
Deactivating the W3 plugin resolves the issue. My research shows it is a cache issue, but i’ve tried toggling on and off the various cache types and cannot resolve the issue. Only deactivating works.
Can someone help please?
]]>I’ve ran into a issue with 2 of my websites that run the Yoast SEO plugin where the robots.txt file doesn’t show up in the file editor.
From what i’ve read there is either supposed to be a button to generate the robots.txt file or a input field with the contents of the file. However that’s not the case.
I’ve already tried to manually add the robots.txt on the server but no luck so far (I also made sure that the robots.txt has suffici?nt read/write permissions)
The WordPress site runs on WP 5.4 and all the plugins are updated to their latest version.
I hope you guys can help me out with this.
Sincerely,
Julian
]]>Can’t find out how to edit robots.txt
I’d like to add
Disallow: /?blackhole
but don’t know how to do it.
SEO on my WP has no edit option, i.e. can’t find a File Editor
I already added this line to wp-config.php (although it doesn’t have before):
define('DISALLOW_FILE_EDIT', false);
I cleared Litespeed and Cloudflare caches also, but still missing File Editor link.
I installed Yoast on another WordPress single, it do have File Editor link.
Is File Editor function disabled on WordPress Multisite?
]]>We recently upgraded our hosting server and now I am no longer able to access my robots.txt file via the File Editor in Yoast tools. This is the message I get. “If you had a robots.txt file and it was editable, you could edit it from here.”
I know I can edit it via SFTP but having it easily accessible via Yoast is much better.
Any ideas why it’s not populating within Yoast?
Thank You.
