Any reason why this might be occurring and how to fix?
Should I try deactivating the plugin and deleting it and installing a fresh version?
Side note and not sure if it matters but i noticed the ICON in the left menu of the admin on one of my newer sites the icon is cog wheel but on some of these older sites, even with updated newest versions of the plugin, still show the shield plugin

Is this something to worry about?

]]>Today, on advice, I installed your security plugin because it would be better and wouldn’t slow down my website. I installed it and turned on the most normal settings. I had a dinner appointment with friends tonight and wouldn’t actually test the speed until tomorrow. Received an email from a customer and also an email from your plugin, Subject: File Change Warning. Body: A file (or files) on your site have been changed…
Okay I tought, 1 or 2 maybe 3 files… But NO…25044 files have been changed!! Didn’t know at all that I had so many files on my site. But what’s going on here? Can almost pull the hair out of my head. How do I get this restored again?
error_log
files in all directories from the file change detection. Can I use wildcards to do that somehow? I’ve tried:
*/*/error_log
I manage a hundred sites that I regulary update using iThemes Sync. I use the file change detection feature to monitor suspicious activity on my sites.
My problem is that as soon as I update a plugin on my sites with iThemes Sync, I receive a hundred alert emails listing all the plugin files. So I want to exclude the “plugins” directory from the file change detection feature to receive fewer emails.
I recently excluded this directory in the “Files and Folders List” on each of my sites, but it has no effect: I still receive tons of emails after each plugin update.
Anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution? Is this a bug or do I have to manually exclude each subdirectory of each plugin?
Thanks for your help.

I’m using the “File Change Detection” feature from AIOWPS with a few exclusions (e.g. backup folder and page-cache) but these don’t work and still alert me everytime the scanner starts.

]]>I just received my first File Change Detected report, and it lists 6.000(!) files that have changed. Some of the files were changed last December. As this is new to me, I have no idea where to begin. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is there anything in particular to look for? Maybe not all the file changes are critical? Or do I have a huge problem on my hands? Many thanks in advance!
