When I first installed/activated the W3TC plugin my slider worked fine with the Minify enabled (set to Auto) in General Settings. Then later my slider completely disappeared above the fold.
Disabling Minify didn’t bring my slider back either but deactivating W3TC did bring back my slider.
I have another blog with the DisplayBuddy (slider) installed which works quite well with W3TC and default Minify settings.
Before I decide to use DisplayBuddy and get rid of my Featured Content Gallery slider plugin in my other blog that doesn’t work with W3TC, I was wondering if anyone had a solution concerning my FCG slider and W3TC compatibility issue.

UPDATE:
I deleted W3TC and reinstalled/activated it again. This time I didn’t enable Minify in Generatl Setting. I left it in the default state. I did enable the following in General Settings…
Page Cache
Database Cache
Object Cache
Browser Cache
…And set other parameters in both Page Cache and Browser Cache. So far so good, my FCG slider is still working (displays above the fold) on my site.
I will give this some time to see whether or not my slider continues to work before I come back here to say my issue is resolved.
Has the developer fully abandoned this wonderful plugin??????????
An update is needed to fix vulnerability issues, update mootools to a newer version, add an option to load the scripts only on homepage (index) instead of all pages, etc.
Even though this masterpiece of a plugin still is compatible even today with the newest version of WP (3.4.2) it still needs an update.
Please developer! Do not abandon this plugin, after 3 years, it’s time for an update, don’t you think?????

I have been using Featured Content Gallery fine with no problems. My website then had 4 boxes beneath the FCG to navigate to other areas on the site. I wanted these boxes to have a transition affect and so I have applied Codrops CSS3 Hover transitions to it.
I have added the required javascript:
<?php if (is_page(‘home’) ) { ?>
<!–home page custom JS–>

<script type=’text/javascript’ src=”<?php bloginfo(‘stylesheet_directory’); ?>/js/jquery.hoverdir.js”>

<?php } ?>
in the header and footer and both causes FCG to stop working.
It seems to be the google’s jquery that seems to be causing this but is there a way I can load a script specifically to one area and not just a page?
Regards,
Anuradha.
I have a website for my business and I am using the featured content gallery. (The plug-in that throws sliders accross the front of a web page).
The problem I am having is I am not able to link images in the gallery to a specific page. Here is my website www.rurallandtracts.com
On the sliders I have pictures of different properties which I am advertising for sale. I want the page viewer to be able to click on one of these property images and link them to the appropriate page (a page with the property details).
The only way I have found that you can link pictures is within a post you click the “edit picture” button. Unfortunately, these images are not being pulled from posts. They are being pulled from my “media” file and they do not seem to allow a hyperlink option in the media file manager.
Please help. And remember I am a “noobie” so please respond in wordpress lamens terms.
One possible solution I thought might fix the problem which I have not tried is downloading and installing the “Next gen gallery” plug in and maybe that will alow me to category my image files differently and also allow me to add a hyperlink

Thanks,

did a google on this issue, but no-one is using the Mystique theme so couldn’t figure it out.
If you check my Photos menu on our website (https://www.oceaniastorm.co.nz) you’ll notice it falls behind the FCG slider.
For the life of me I can’t figure out which CSS line to edit to get it working correctly. I know its a z-index issue, but I’m no guru when it comes to this stuff! :S
Can someone kindly point me in the right direction? – Thank you
Is it possible to post portrait orientation images mixed with landscape images and not have them look out of whack?
I have experimented with Featured Content Gallery with other themes. Would it be possible to use it instead of the slideshow built into F8 Lite? What code would I need to remove and where would I add the Featured Content Gallery code?
Not sure if this should go in the Plug Ins board, or here, so forgive me if this is the wrong place. One of my sites is having a problem with Featured Content Gallery where the images do not display in IE, but work fine in both Firefox and Safari. I’m fairly new with all of this, but a friend of my had me change the location of the gallery script from the header.php file to the index.php file and that didn’t work. Here is the site: www.eyeswideopen.me
Also, does anyone recommend an alternative for FCG that will accomplish the same thing? I’m not in love with this plugin, so would be willing to explore other options.
Thanks
