Please help-I can't access my site at all and have tried everything I know

I’m at a total loss for how to proceed. I just registered a new domain (FontyPython.com) with HostGator and originally set my WP install up via Fantastico De Luxe in my root. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary during the process, but when trying to go to my WP login screen, I receive an “Oops! Google Chrome could not find fontypython.com” I checked to be sure, and have a database set up in MySQL.

So I uninstalled it and tried the Famous 5 minute installation. Same thing. So I uninstalled it again. And tried the few other tricks I know to manually set up WP on a site. Nothing (except that same error message). I’m no back-end expert, so I’m afraid more poking around will only make matters worse. I looked around the Forums and nothing seemed similar to my problem. I’m sure it’s something small and probably user-error, but what and how? For the life of me I can’t figure it out.

I set up a subdomain with WP on that same account, and it works fine. I can’t figure out where to begin or what to do now to install WP on this root site though.

And ideas or help is immensely appreciated!

Hello everyone, I just installed wordpress using fantastico de luxe and I seem to have a problem. Whenever I try to visit “pagename.com/wp-admin” it takes me to the correct screen – and when I login it is the normall wordpress, not the installed wordpress.

Can someone please let me know what I am doing wrong?

is my new site hosted by hostgator. Tried to install wordpress through fantastico de luxe. I received the email with the login details etc but whenever i use any of the links none of them work. I cannot login to my admin nor view my site. Do I need to uninstall and start again? It has been 2 day now since I installed it.

Disable Fantastico De Luxe

My web host uses Fantastico De Luxe to maintain my WordPress installation, but I’m fed up with the delay in them releasing updates for it.

I’m still stuck on 2.8.6 and the message telling me to upgrade is sat at the top of my dashboard constantly reminding me. The trouble is WordPress can’t upgrade itself with Fantastico maintaining it, it always fails.

So, how can I disable Fantastico De Luxe and look after the WordPress install myself?

I’ve recently installed WordPress via Fantastico de Luxe from my control panel hosted by Knet hosting.It asked me which directory I wanted to install it in, so I said public_html. But what I’ve got now as my URL is https://www.mydomain/public_html Now that’s not what I want! Looking at my root directory in Fetch I see that WordPress has actually been installed inside a sub folder called public_html inside the public_html folder. But if I try to re-install WordPress from Fantastico again but leave the directory window blank I get this message:”The installation can not be completed:
– You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.”

Does anybody know of a way to do this properly? I’d be very grateful!
