I’m following your instructions to install an app on our Facebook Group (yes, I’m an admin) but I can’t find it.
I tried searching “Smash Balloon WordPress” and scrolling down to where it should be in the list alphabetically. No dice:
Please let me know what you think. Thanks!
]]>First of all: I’m a huge fan of AudioIgniter.
My question: If you access my site from the Facebook app (ver. 336.0.0.20.117) using an Android phone (mine’s an Galaxy S8) the player doesn’t work. I suppose this is a Facebook issue, but is there any way to fix this (apart from telling people to press “Open in browser” in the Facebook app)?
Let me know!
All the best,
Johan
After troubleshooting for hours, I tried disabling the AMP WordPress plugin and voila! the links opened my website properly again. No more white screen of death.
My question: how can I have AMP enabled AND have Facebook properly open links to my website on the Facebook for Android app? I’d prefer to use amp because it helps page speed and ranking. But, a huge portion of my traffic comes from Facebook, so I can’t ignore that either.
If I had a handful of fans, I could ask them all to stop using Facebook app, or to start using “open website in browser”. But, my posts are seen by thousands of fans and that’s just not feasible. Thanks
I’ve had a great experience implementing Oneall social login on my polling site, Canvassy (canvassy.co), but I’ve experienced an issue in a key user flow which I would be grateful for help diagnosing and fixing please! (I’m not a developer, btw.)
Steps to reproduce:
The user flow is:
1. Open Facebook app and go to Canvassy (search for ‘canvassy’ in the FB app)
2. Click through to a poll
3. Vote
4. Log in with Facebook
At this point in a ‘normal’ browser (Chrome or Safari) the flow works well: the user is always redirected automatically back to the vote page on Canvassy, their vote is registered, their user account is created on Canvassy, and the user can see the vote results.
In the Facebook in-app browser, however, I just get a blank page. The URL it’s pointing at is the WP ‘admin-ajax.php’ page. (https://www.canvassy.co/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=yop_poll_record_wordpress_vote&poll_id=13&puid=xxx) (I edited out the puid here but you can see for yourself if you try it.)
I’ve made a video of each version:
I would be very grateful for any help or insight you could give as to how I can get this flow to work in the Facebook in-app browser, please!
Thanks,
Chris
]]>Would you mind telling me if we need to do something related to this?
As a result of recent changes to the platform, you’ll need to take the following 1 action by October 23, 2019 for your app to maintain the current level of access and functionality.
The following permissions or features require App Review:
publish_pages
business_management
manage_pages
We need to request permissions? Which ones?
The date has been extended, but it seems we still need to review it.
What should we do?
Thanks!
]]>I just have one issue with it. On mobile, when someone tries to click on the Facebook share button, it opens the link m.facebook.com on the browser, rather than opening the app. It works fine with the Twitter share and Whatsapp (it opens both their apps) but it opens the mobile link for Facebook.
Any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you!
