Since installing WP 5.5.1 last week, the menu’s on the left hand side of my website are permanently expanded, i.e. they display all subpages underlying main pages. Before, users were required to click on a main page in order for it to expand.
To have the menu’s automatically expanded like this is undesired for my website because it contains several hundreds of pages.
Can anybody advise on how to revert back to the old situation? Your help is much appreciated.
Regards,
Rutger
1) Nav Options
Menu link font colour works, but the option for submenu doesn’t. Whatever you put in there, the colour doesn’t change.
2) Navigation font size & weight
Nothing happens if you use those sliders. The upcase/lowcase option works perfectly instead.
3) Header Options
The hide category works perfectly, but the hide author sadly does not

]]>We haven’t managed to replicate the issue on larger screens.
On the iPhone, if you tap the “three dots” to expand the menu then after tapping the expand arrow to the right of the “Parent Page” menu item a few times to open and close the sub menu, the entire menu freezes and none of the icons work.
The page then has to be reloaded to view the website again.

]]>I’ve selected the single expanded submenu option. However, one page appears in multiple submenus and, as such, both are expanded. Is there any way of setting priority so it only expands one particular one?
]]>The first issue is that the toggle menu pushes the content all the way down the page (I have a long menu). Is it possible to have the content stay toward the top and have the menu overlay it? I would be happy to put the menu contents in a partially transparent box.
The second issue is that on first opening the site or a page, the toggle menu is already opened. Is it possible to have just the word “Menu” with its lines showing until it is clicked?
Finally, the toggle menu treats 3rd order menu items the same as 2nd order, so where I have sub items in my menu like: industries > furniture systems > rhombii training table on the full site, the toggle menu moves the rhombii training table up a level to be equal to its furniture systems parent, no longer a sub item to it.
My site is https://alt.webdesignsbykimberly.com/ and not all pages are built yet, but https://alt.webdesignsbykimberly.com/furniture-systems/bretford-rhombii-training-table-1/ is at least partially there!
Thanks SO MUCH for any help you can give.
]]>Hopefully someone here can steer me in the proper direction. I am having trouble on a site that was working fine until recently. The problem is not related to the them or plugins that I can tell as if I switch themes or disable all plugins, the site does the same thing.
It used to be that when I viewed the site on a mobile device (iPad, iPhone, Droid, etc) that I would get a condensed version of the site with a 3 line box that represented the compressed menu. When you clicked it, the menu would expand.
For some reason now when viewing the site with a mobile device, the entire menu structure and page displayed are expanded and totally unusable. It is almost as if it is not detecting a mobile device.
No plugin for Mobile is active on this site. Just the built in WordPress function.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to troubleshoot, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
~TJ
