I got Event Tickets connected to PayPal, but a number of things are wrong and so the plugin cannot accept payments.
Error - Something went wrong! : Unexpected response received. - Failed to refresh PayPal access token
Error - Something went wrong! : Unexpected response received. - Failed to refresh PayPal user info.
Unexpected PayPal response when creating webhook
Failed to refresh PayPal webhooks.
And then below, in the ‘PayPal box’ on the same screen, we can see that a webhook was not created and so it’s missing the ability to track charges, refunds, etc. Here’s a screenshot:
REFERENCES
A number of other users have written in about this but I haven’t actually seen a procedure to fix. One thread said to contact PayPal about it but no final solution was posted. The other talked about confirming the access token, but doesn’t describe how to do so.
OTHER NOTES
SYSTEM INFO
RESOLUTION
I know that getting this into a release may take awhile, so would it be possible to respond with an interim fix, even if it involves updating something in the database with a token that I can access from the PayPal side? I think that publishing something that will allow people to troubleshoot this with some database hacks and further understand how the system works will actually really help, even in debugging future issues.
And if there really IS something that needs to happen on the PayPal side, can you please explain exactly what that is so that I and future users can configure our PayPal accounts properly, or at least know exactly what to say to PayPal support for a swift resolution if that’s what it takes.
]]>On desktop it is fine.
I use Siteground and turned off caching on the server level in the .htaccess file
I have very few plugins and tried deactivating them all one by one.
I switched themes to 2024.
I tried a test on a differently configured site I work on that has a full suite of Events Calendar plugins, but i couldn’t reproduce it there.
]]>There really aren’t many font types, more should be added. Also, the PDF file that is generated really doesn’t give a nice result, it doesn’t look professional, that really needs to be improved.
]]>When scanning the QR code in the email, it gives an error message. The following website suggests changing SUHOSIN settings, but I don’t know which settings to change there. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/rest-api-check-in-for-event-tickets-plus-app/
When paying with ideal (in non-test mode), the email is not sent. However, when being in test mode and paying with credit card, it does send.
When adding a ticket to a page via the ticket block in the WP editor, it works fine (apart from not sending the email), but when going to the page that contains the event I created via the Events tab, it gives an error message: There was an error enabling Stripe on your cart. More information is available in the Event Tickets settings dashboard. Please contact the site administrator for support.
Anyone who could assist me with these problems?
]]>I would like to have some recommendations on how to customise the event. For example:
The events listed on my website are not displaying the RSVP, so my community cannot join any of our events. This is new, as they were displaying RSVPs up until today. My events are also not showing the tickets block.
They ARE displaying on the back end. They are simply not displaying on the front end.
Help?
]]>I have setup separate Webhooks in Stripe – 1 for gravity forms (working) and a separate one exclusively for Event Tickets. Within the EventTickets settings, I can successfully connect to Stripe and setup the webhook in Stripe with the Event Ticket suggested events (11 of them) and I also tried all events. payments are pushing through but when I try to copy/paste the signing secret back into Event Ticket settings and:
– click Save OR
– Click or tab out of the field
the Signing Secret field and the ‘Save Changes’ button greys out with a message:
Webhooks not validated yet.
All my plugins are updated, permalinks are also ‘pretty’. But I still get an email from stripe and an error that says webhooks are not yet validated.
Thanks in advance. Any help appreciated!
]]>we have been using the Events plugin for a while and have now installed the Tickets plugin, which we have connected to PayPal. The connection works, but errors appear in the WebHooks. We don’t use other gateways or WooCommerce.
You can see the errors here:

I tried a lot and read the articles in the knowledge base. I reconnected PayPal a few times, deleted the browser cache, etc.
I also installed the debug bar and could see 401 HTTP codes for the PayPal Webhook calls. We also activated PayPal IPN, but have still the same errors.
Can you help us, please?
]]>Based on my search of the web, I think the emails should be sent automatically as soon as the order status is marked as ‘Completed’, which it is.
Will be grateful for any help, since this makes it impossible to work with tickets, the customers need to get their tickets via mail or somehow.
Thanks in advance!
I am trying to hide the ‘free’ event cost for an RSVP only event.
I have left the event cost box blank in the event edit page, but the event is still showing as ‘free’.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
