I would like each blog post to show in full on the home page. I’ve tried a number of tweaks in the CSS and can’t get it to work.

Also, there seems to be a glitch under Site Identity. If I deselect Display Site Title, the Tagline disappears, even though that is still selected to show.

Show Entire Post Rather than Excerpt

How would I get the Posts page to show the entire post rather than just an excerpt? For the life of me I cannot get the entire post to be shown. I have tried to modify the php files in the child theme directory, tried changing settings in the dashboard and still nothing. I have tried setting “Excerpt Length” to 99999 words in the plug in settings but it still cuts off at around 144 words.

Hi there!

Working on a members page that I need some help with. It going to be a single password login, same login for all users, and the page will contain some info that we want to show only to members and not on the public website.

As a part of this page, we want a blog category (something like “words from the lead team) to be shown. There are a couple of ways, plugins and shortcodes for showing excerpts from a specific blog category, but what we are after is the ability to show a full blog post on the page. That is, not all blog post, but only the latest.

There should as well be a way to view older blog posts, but as I said, showing excerpts of a number of blog posts is not any problem at all, there are several good ways of doing that. But I have not yet found any way to show an entire blog post on a page.

For more info, I’m using X Theme and Cornerstone which allows shortcodes and shows them live in a just awesome way. And the page I’m working on will look like somewhat of a onepage.

Will be interesting to see what knowledge is out there!

work out how to do this with the Canvas theme.

I am not into coding and HTML so please dont tell me about the ‘excerpt’ to ‘content’ change…..

I’ve read something about the code for remove the “Read More” button, but still doesn’t resolve my problem.
I would like to show the entire post, without the “Read More” link.
I saw I’m able to remove the button, but still remain only 5 rows about my post.
How can I do for show the entire post?
I have the SUEVA theme and I’ve found something about “read more” in my main.php:

Hi,

I have a weird problem. the_excerpt() returns the entire post on posts and pages, but shows correctly on category views and on the home page.

I have the Advanced Excerpt plugin (https://sparepencil.com/portfolio/advanced-excerpt) but the same thing happens even if I disable it.

I have a featured area in the the header.php that displays on every page, the problem occurs there. The site uses the Magazine news (https://magazine-news.com/) theme, if it makes sense. On their demo page it works fine.

What are the possible scenarios for this to happen?
