Hello.
Is it possible to switch the choice of the Search Engines Visibility after the installation? You see, at the beginning I’d like to discourage search engines from indexing the site because I’m still doing a test; only after the test was proven good, I’d like the website to be indexed. I looked for this possibility in the Back-End, but I didn’t find anything.

search engines issues

Hi everyone
Can anyone help me? This is my web site:

and keyword is : digital backgrounds
When I go with this keyword to yahoo and Bing search engines…my website appear for example on 2nd -3rd pages…but on goggle search engine isn’t even till 30 page…weird
also when I type relative keyword such as “digital backgrounds for photographers”…on yahoo and Bing my web site appear as home page…on google search engine is showing as post page…why?
Any solution for that?

Hello. I’ve added a description and keywords to all of my pages, but I’m at a loss as to how to get my site to show up on search engines by the second page. I went 4 pages in and it still didn’t show up which means no one will find me basically. Unless they are looking for me specifically. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Site Title & Tagline blocked for search engines

Hello team,

I need your help to find a solution.
The search engines are not pulling the correct Site Title and Tagline of the website, and of course the reading settings allow the search engines indexing the site.

The Site Tile showing up currently has been changed weeks ago, and the Tagline is is just pulling information from the header (menu) and the footer. Why?

Stats/Referrers/Search Engines

Many versions ago (using 3.4.2 and Jetpack now) I seem to remember seeing complete search strings being listed in the Stats/Referrers page under Referrers/Search Engines. The “Search Engines” used to expand to the file that was searched. (Unless I’m senile or mistaken, and either one or both is possible) Now all I get is where the search came from, like “google.com/imgres” and that’s it.

I can’t find a plugin that’ll do it, so is there a way to put that info back in?

I really hope someone can help me! I had my site set up for me as a special offer via a site design company. Big mistake – I’m thinking that I should have done it myself from the ground up and I would have learnt a lot more! Anyway, I had to re-organise the site because it wasn’t quite what I wanted. I’ve struggled through and managed to get it more or less to how I want it, although looking at other people’s sites mine really does look quite amateur (never mind we’ve all got to start somewhere!) Having got it to this stage I’m thinking that no-one will ever see it because I just don’t understand how to get it verified with the search engines. I’ve tried doing what they say; eventually I worked out that I had to insert the meta tag into the header.php file – it didn’t work, they couldn’t verify it and I’ve downloaded an html file but have no idea where to upload it to. Have read about root folders but haven’t got the first clue how and where to find my root folder. Help! am on the verge of giving up with this site which is a shame coz I think a lot of people could benefit from it. noindex / nofollow and private sites

I just realized that marking a WP site “private” in Settings > Privacy does not add noindex / nofollow tags to the login & lost password pages. So, the site that I did for a private club now shows up in Google, basically inviting the public to attempt to log in. Customer is not happy about this.

Be warned that if you really want your site not to be indexed, you’ll have to modify the core file wp-login.php.

I have been having trouble getting my blog indexed by search engines. i don’t have any such restrictions in my robots.txt file. But i decided to veiw the source and i see (you can see it at https://theguitarresource.com):

Now, i never put that in there. even worse, i looked at my header template and index template and it is not in there.
This is all very bad b/c it is killing y traffic. Can someone please help me find out how to get this off my site? thanks a bunch!

Query driven tag assignment

Is there anybody interested in writing a plugin (for WordPress or another blogging software) that do this task?
