podcast
and a custom taxonomy podcast-show
. I want to use the podcast-show
taxonomy for my podcast feeds. But, when I set up Taxonomy Podcasting in Powerpress for that taxonomy, the metabox never appears.
The way I have gotten around this is by also turning on Post Type Podcasting for the podcast
post type. This allows the metabox to show, and for the podcast show feeds to work. However, I have recently discovered that there’s an enclosure
field for each feed. That enclosure field is created for each feed, but when updates are made to the enclosure details, they are only updated for one of the feeds.
In our case, this means that Powerpress is recognizing the post being in a Post Type Podcasting feed and updating the enclosure for that feed, instead of the Taxonomy feed that we need updated. We are currently having to manually duplicate the change in the database, and it’s very tedious and frustrating.
There are two issues here that probably need to be addressed:
Using the latest post on my feed as an example of the issue, this is the mediafire link used on WordPress: https://www.mediafire.com/file/x8igh6p2wq0o7d9/10272021_TWFS_.mp3/
This is the redirect enclosure link created by SSP Plugin: https://www.havegrit.club/podcast-download/32158/izzy-sabotages-nxt-aj-styles-supports-masculinity-wwe-aew-celebrate-halloween-twfs-10-27-2021.mp3?ref=download
I need SSP Plugin to serve my mediafire link (it displays this in WordPress under ‘Edit Post’ in all of the enclosure fields) as the enclosure link without havegrit.club in it. The redirect to my domain of havegrit.club is sabotaging my feed.
Thank you for your help.
]]>Can I somehow change this permanently, or what is the problem?
]]>Are there any plans to bring the episode number in via the plugin in the near future? I see that it is in the XML feed, but not actually in the enclosure data.
Thanks!
]]>Later. I have gone to look at the part of the feed in the topic, and I have found that the function “automatic_feed_links” appears that in the WordPress repository.
Says this, that “automatic_feed_links” are deprecated.
Does anyone know anything about that? Could correct this? I have tried to insert several codes extracted from github and different internet blogs, and none have worked.
Suppose. That I do not have the necessary knowledge to correct it
I don’t think it has anything to do with enclosure.
There would be some way to insert “enclosure” in the “rss” images of the Ocean WP theme. Greetings..
]]>I’ve tried copying across an old post which works and publishing it again, but it doesn’t work.
]]>We’re using PowerPress and everything up to November 25th works fine but every weeks podcast (sermon) after that says it’s missing an Enclosure tag. Listening on the website there is no issue. Podcasts and through our App does not play and has been diagnosed as as missing enclosure tags.
We’re using Taxonomy podcasting. I’m at a loss as to why it just stopped working after all this time being just fine.
