First and foremost, thanks for this very useful plugin!

I need to delete the ellipsis (…) at the end of the excerpts, or to make them invisible, at least. At first this looked like an easy job for CSS, but sadly it can’t target the ellipsis.

I looked into the code, but I can’t find where the trailing dots come from.

Any help, please?

Hi!

How can I add Text-overflow: Ellipsis to a headline? I used ‘Inspect page’ option with Chrome to figure it out but nothing works. Now after almost 4 hours of trying I’m starting to give up and ask for help.

I’m absolutely missing something here because I just can’t seem to find where to put the code.

Remove ellipsis from titles

I want to eliminate the ellipsis seen in the titles on the course grid. I assume this is set with text-overflow: ellipsis somewhere in the CSS but I can’t find it.

I think I need to override the setting with text-overflow: initial but I don’t know what element to apply it to.

Any help appreciated.

Jetpack Publicize, e.g. social share, often places ellipses on excerpts when they aren’t necessary. This is especially troublesome when the excerpt is a short sentence ending in a period, and then four dots appear which misleads visitors into thinking there’s more to the excerpt.

Is there a filter to control the logic when ellipses are added?

Is there a way to change the ellipsis (aka the read more function – … )
to actually say “Read More” or “click here to expand” – or display a button?

I have users saying they can’t figure out how to read the full description. I know everyone should know what the ellipsis means, but in their defense, it is pretty tiny.

Im thinking somewhere there must be a place in the code to modify that to be text and not the three …

hi.
the plugin is pretty straight forward but apparently the ellipsis doesn’t show when you’re working on lines, which in my view is the main use for that –?like 2 or 3. so the truncation is not at all visible.

Removing ellipsis conversion from block editor

I am building custom blocks for the block editor and in one of the blocks I am using a custom font in the frontend. The problem I am facing is that once I save the text with three periods it converts them to an ellipsis character which my font doesn’t support. I’m using a PlainText component for this. Is there any filter that I can use to omit this or convert the ellipsis back?
