New Plugin: Digg Defender

Chinese characters in permalink don’t render

When I create a post using some chinese in the title, ?¤??°??, I get this result:

Now, I don’t know if this is right or wrong, but it doesn’t look like a URL with unicode in it?

I’m thinking it would be nice if plugins at periodic times checked themselves against whatever the plugin author has labelled the “current version” and upgraded. Of course, the idea that your plugin might change behavior will annoy many of you, but a responsible plugin author would only be using it for bugfixes. That said, my question is, what is a secure way of implementing an autoupdate feature?

hashcash and firefox/blank wp-comments-post.php page

I have hashcash installed to help control spam comments. It works fine in internet explorer. In firefox I get a blank wp-comments-post.php page. This is indicative of not having javascript active (from reading another post). I installed sun’s JRE 1.4_2_7. When I do an about:plugins it shows me Java Plug-In enabled. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. Nothing seems to work. Also, same from Netscape 7.2

Stuck. any ideas appreciated.
