ELA can’t show some categories that made by WP 2.6.
Has WP 2.6 different way to make category DB?

I’ve had Extended Live Archives working for over a year but now that it isn’t working with WP2.5 I’d like to uninstall and go back to the normal archive.

But I’ve forgotten what hacks I might have made to get it to work.

I disabled the plugin and unpublished the page I made named “archives” that includes the php function call to ela.

So how do I get to the normal Archives? Going to /archive yields a Not Found message that says “Apologies, but we were unable to find what you were looking for. Perhaps searching will help.”

Anyone have any ideas?

[Plugin: Extended Live Archive] not seeing categories

Hi, my Extended Live Archive configuration page does not display any of my categories to enable me to select them. And if I click on “Update Options Now” it says: “What’s the point of not showing up any categories at all ?”

Furthermore, when I go to my archives webpage—even though I’ve got the correct permissions on cache folder—it just says: “Could not open cache file years.dat”

Does anyone know what the problem here might be?

I’ve had my blog up for several years, and it’s gone through many changes. Now, with a new name – Cold Coffee …and reruns (CC&R) and companion domain www.coldcoffeeandreruns.com – comes a new look, too.

When redeveloping my blog, I spent a lot of time researching how different sites are using WP, and discovered it’s much more than just a blogging program and has become a viable competitor with other CMS applications. However, I’ve refrained from using it sitewide at this time, but have made the blog the “flagship” of my site, blending both style and interaction/functionality through design and 20+ plugins. On the user side, Lightbox, Extended Live Archives, Random Images (which draw from my Pixelpost-based photoblog), WordTube, and Audio Player. Many other plugins running on the backside pull it all together.

I went through several design ideas before settling on one fairly simple, throwback theme using patterns and colors reminiscent of the great 50s and 60s, yet (hopefully) not overbearing to the multimedia content of the site – all which degrade load times.

What’s my favorite part of the theme? Gotta say the CSS rollover menu in the upper right-hand. It wasn’t fun struggling through design and placement coding, but I’m very pleased with the outcome. I toyed with using mouseover sound effects, but determined I’d rather validate XHTML instead.

So now, I come to my fellow developers/users for feedback – the good, the bad, the ugly. Obviously, I want to improve that which can be. Your thoughts?

is ELA compatible with any version of WP?

I cannot get ELA to work properly with my WordPress (I am version running 2.1.3) – one major issue is that the archive bumps my static “homepage” off, and I can’t do anything about it. From what I’ve read on this forum & ELA forum, I gather that the plugin is not compatible with 2.1 OR the new 2.3 versions of WordPress.

Can anyone confirm this?

If this is the case, are there any other archive plugins that are compatible?

ELA’s support & development seems to be dead for a while now, however there doesn’t seem to be an alternative when it comes to custom archives. Would someone with coding skills accept the challenge of updating this essential WP extension ?

My hosting service yesterday alerted me to a High CPU usage case with my WordPress install at https://nullpointer.debashish.com, as follows:

Top Process %CPU 90.0 /usr/bin/php post.php
Top Process %CPU 49.0 /usr/bin/php index.php
Top Process %CPU 40.0 /usr/bin/php af-ela.php

I made a new blog post yesterday and this might have triggered it. But what may be causing it, this never happened before but has any ELA (I am using 0.10beta-r14 version of ELA) user noticed such a problem with the plugin?

Hi, Could anyone help me to resolve this?
I am using WP2.1 and K2 theme. When activated ELA, I met with this problem. Everytime I publish or delete a post, it says:

MySQL Error when deleting posts/pages – Something to do with ELA

I get this error whenever I delete a page/post. The thing actually gets deleted but this shows up.

Times Out During Publishing

Just recently my blog – https://www.elainevigneault.com – has developed a problem. It always times out when I publish an entry. The entry gets published, but the “write post” screen lingers and times out.

I’m thinking it might be related to Extended Live Archives because I just installed that plugin and never had this problem before. But of course, it could be anything and that’s just a coincindence.

Any ideas what could be causing this?
