I have been trying to display the event’s time zone on the “My Calendar Setting -> Text -> Time Format.” The default time format is g:i a. Checking the link provided there for the PHP date. I have added g:i a T, when I check the direct link of the event, the date shows correctly, for example, 4 pm EDT, but on the list view, on the grid view, and also on shortcodes for upcoming events those shows way wrong the date gets changed to 4:00 PM GMT nothing else no +5 or -5 to indicate it is EDT, is there any way this can be fixed.

I also noticed that when using the {time} it shows the GMT, but on the {endtime} it does show EDT. Should they both show at the same Timezone?

Another example would be how the upcoming date is shown “2:00 pm GMT – 4:00 pm EDT, October 2, 2024″ it should be “2:00 pm EDT – 4:00 pm EDT, October 2, 2024″

Show Eastern Time Zone

Hi There!

I am trying to set the time to the Eastern Time Zone. Specifically America/New_York but no matter what I do the time still shows as Central Time. I want the time to always reflect the time that the page is updated. I would truly appreciate any assistance with this!

I have it set as [current_date format=’l, F j, Y, g: i A’] – thank you for any & all help!

Per Event Timezone Issue

I’m trying to set per-event timezones but every timezone abbreviation (CDT/ETC, etc) shows the default WordPress timezone (configured in General Settings) regardless of how each event post is selected.

For example, WordPress default is set to Chicago. The individual event is set to New York timezone, but the event shows 3-6pm CDT rather than 3-6pm EDT.

Followed the setup here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/working-with-timezones/ and have selected “Use local timezones for each event”.

Any help would be fantastic.

date comparison to 'today' fails for wpcf (Types plugin) custom field

The date comparison for ‘today’ fails for a Types plugin custom field. Custom Content Shortcode seems to consider a post with a date/time of October 17, 2015 at 10:00am to be in the future. See https://www.thevoltastudio.com/upcoming-classes/

I have the same loop on that page twice, with the first (today) having [loop type=class field="wpcf-class-date-time" value="today" order="ASC" orderby="field_num" key="wpcf-class-date-time"] and the second (future) having [loop type=class field="wpcf-class-date-time" value="future" order="ASC" orderby="field_num" key="wpcf-class-date-time"]

At the time I’m writing this, it’s 5:00am on October 17, 2015 EST, but there are classes (posts) showing in the future block which should show in the today block.

I’m guessing this has something to do with GMT offset. I noted that the timestamp for a class set to 10am today has a timestamp of 1445076000 which is Sat, 17 Oct 2015 10:00:00 GMT/UTC, which is not actually correct. The timestamp should evaluate to Sat, 17 Oct 2015 10:00:00 EDT.

So maybe this is more of a problem with the Types plugin, but I wanted to know if there was a workaround for Custom Content Shortcode.

Access to Editor

Dear Forum,

I am with 1und1 (German host) and I can’t seem to get access to the editor. Specifically: I am having problems with a Plugin, contacted the support and they said they will work it out for me but need full access to edit the Plugin. I am already in free mode so it should work.

Anybody has an answer for me and a solution to the problem?

Would appreciate quick help, this problem is annoying me for quite some time now and I can’t go on with my page unless I get this thing fixed…

Posts being set to ‘Future’, and not displaying

I have a script that uses wp_insert_post() to post daily [with ‘post_date’=>date(“Y-m-d H:i:s”) and ‘post_status’=>’publish’ among the parameters], but noticed a problem: since March 9th, all posts had ‘future’ as post_status. Prior to this it was fine. I can only assume daylight savings time vs. GMT had something to do with this.

That wouldn’t actually be much of a problem, except that future posts whose timestamps are already past still aren’t displaying. For example, a post with a post_date of ‘2008-03-14 14:30:02’/post_date_gmt of ‘2008-03-14 19:30:02’ will not display on the blog even now.

Why are ‘future’ posts with past timestamps not displaying?

Why is WordPress overriding my explicit post_status of ‘publish’ and setting these posts to ‘future’?
