But my problem is that the minute I edit them (ie, cropping or scaling a photo), I can’t insert it into the text. And there is no “Back” button to return to the main Media Library page. It’s as if I’m stuck there because I can’t use the Image/Media section at all. The real problem, I guess, is that the usual “Back” button is gone and the insertion feature doesn’t work.
In order to be able to get back to the Media Library page and to insert/use any photos, I have to close the editor and save the document. Only then can I use the Media Library properly and insert the (now-edited) image.
It’s a real pain that adds a huge amount of time to everything I post. Seriously, maybe an hour a post because I use a lot of photos, so I’m constantly getting stuck, having to save, and having go back to use each image.
So, this is what I’ve done up to now after reading some of the forum posts: I’ve updated all plug-ins like Jetpack, Yost, Akismet, and my theme, and I cleaned my browser cache. (If it’s relevant, I always use Chrome.)
I don’t think it’s the plug-ins, because all my Media, Uploading, Text, Writing, Posting, Preview functions work fine. It’s just the insertion and “back” part of WP’s Media Library’s editing function.
I have ZERO knowledge about coding, tech stuff, and FTP whatever. One WP 4.5 Support document I read talked about deleting plug-ins, then reinstalling or whatever, and that terrifies me. I can’t do any of that by myself. I wouldn’t know where to begin or how to do it.
Can anyone help me in a way that doesn’t require me tinkering with codes and all that stuff? Is there any way a WP Support person can go into the nuts and bolts of my set-up to fix whatever minor coding issue is doing this?
My website is: www.KafkaesqueBlog.com
Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer. (I really hope the advice or solution is *not* to delete/re-install my plug-ins, because I won’t be able to do anything and I’ll be forced to hope that WP eventually issues a bug-fix.) :'( :'(
]]>All images are working in this website none are broken and I can upload more images but just can’t edit them – it appears it is only the editing of the images that is not working.
So I asked the company to give me a backup of the entire website (without the images folder as it wouldn’t fit) to put on my own server hosting – I loaded it on my server added some images and the editor works fine.
I am thinking it is their hosting – but they will not give me access to their hosting account – they want me to tell them and they will then contact the host.
This is the website: https://www.furniturewarehousesale.com.au
I have noticed this: they only have one folder for the images (not broken into months) I know some hosts have a limit – could this be the problem?
I checked the wp-config.php file and the memory is define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’ ); should this be bigger?
I checked the functions.php file for white lines and nothing.
Another suggestion is that there is no PHP GD library on the server – but I can’t check this as I can’t access their server.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
]]>I am building a website using WP 3.5.2 and I have just installed a few images in a couple of pages last night using Google Chrome as a browser. The pictures look great although I do have to edit them a little around the edges. Only one problem, I noticed today that when I am using Internet Explore as a browser, the images stay at the default size no matter how many times I try to edit it and it is takes up the whole page. Is this a common problem, is there a fix or do I need to I edit my images in PhotoShop ? I feel like I am missing something here. If someone could help me, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
]]>Does anyone know if it’s possible to select the section of the image that you wish to display in the slider, or whether you can select the zoom for image anywhere on the slider?
I’ve tried editing the image size but it’s not really helping as I don’t know the exact measurements.
I have the Novelty theme.
]]>I enabled thumbnails and added a featured image to my posts except when I upload images I get a HTTP Error message coming up however when I then go and check the Media library their is an image their, I can link to it etc. however when I go to edit the image it cannot edit the image as ‘Image data does not exist. Please re-upload the image’.
I’ve looked at a few different solutions, I’m only using two plugins. ‘Ambrosite Next/Previous Post Link Plus’ and ‘Disqus Comment System’ both of which I’ve toggled to check if it was them.
Any help would be amazing. Its driving me mental at the moment.
