Not able to edit permalink on staging site

Hi,

I’m currently working on a staging site so unsure if this is normal but I can’t edit the urls/ permalinks. I am not given the option under Gutenberg at all while I do get the option on the current live website? I can’t see any edit button only the url.

Cannot edit homepage/front page permalink

Hi,

I have read most of the many forum threads about similar issues but have not found an answer. All my posts and all my pages except the homepage allow me to edit the permalink. I have a static front page. The permalink is showing as my site URL, but I want it to show URL/page (or post( title the way all the other pages and posts do automatically (they also allow manual editing). It is not showing an edit box. I can edit the slug, but that does not show in the URL. My intention is to have the page title in the URL. In other words, if my site is pets.com and my page title is How to Name Your Oet and I chose that as my static front page, I would want the permalink to be pets.com/how-to-name-your-pet. Instead, I’m getting just pets.com.

I don’t have it set to the default permalinks, I have the one that says sample-post. I don’t have pages in the trash that have the same words in the title.

I don’t know how to find the database for this site in my C Panel, but I do not think an image permalink is the issue, because many of my posts have the images with the same words as are in the permalink. However, I would like to look into this, but I have several sites and a bunch of databases that built themselves and named themselves random letters so being a non-database person I do not know which one goes with this site.

Can't edit permalinks

Hello everyone,

I am moving my website from other cms to WordPress. What I am trying to do is change permalinks in order to reflect the old ones, the ones from the previous cms.

But, any time I try to edit permalink, I am running into a problem.
Example: my old url, on old website is: domain.com/english/disover (it’s multilingual website)

This same url on WordPress is: domain.com/discover/

When I try to change to the old version I cannot do it. What happens is, WordPress deletes “/” and changes it to: domain.com/englishdiscover

Why is this happening, and how can I overcome this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have one page that I’ve named “Forum”, but I want to edit the permalink to point to a subdomain where I have phpbb forums running. I remember I was able to do this a while back. But now I can’t.

I only want to edit this one page/permalink, not all.

I don’t want to allow the authors to change the permalinks of their published posts. I want to disable the editing permalinks feature.

how to do this??
