Yoast Meta Description Not Showing for Tag Pages

Last month I updated a number of meta descriptions on a client’s website, but the pages are still being flagged as “duplicate meta descriptions” in SEMRush. I am primarily having this issue with category/blog tag pages. When I go to the page’s dashboard, I see the meta description there, but it does not appear in the page’s source code. Instead, the source code shows the first 1-2 lines of the first blog on the page. I’m not sure what’s causing the override; I was considering just hiding the Yoast plugin for those pages, but I wasn’t sure if that would fix the issue.

I really have huge problems regarding Duplicate meta descriptions with this plugin. This plugin will create number in the end of permalink post like domain.com/post/2.
Please how to fix this?

Deleted Plugin, Community Forum Still Exists

Installed your plugin and it ended up causing more problems for us. It created duplicate title tags and meta descriptions and caused crawl errors on our site. I have deleted the plugin, but the community forum pages that it created are still causing these issues. Can you please tell me what I need to do to permanently delete or remove them. Thanks.

SEM Rush – duplicate meta descriptions

I use SEO by Yoast and also subscribe to SEM Rush for assistance to improve my ranking, keywords, etc. My website features approximately 100 blog posts. Each week my SEM Rush report comes back saying I have 200+ pages with duplicate meta descriptions.

The majority of these pages are my blog post index listing pages – eg:
https://www.mywebsite.com/author/blogs/page/1/
https://www.mywebsite.com/author/blogs/page/2/
https://www.mywebsite.com/author/blogs/page/3/, etc.

Another batch of these errors relates to the blog post category:
https://www.mywebsite.com/category/blog-category/page/1/
https://www.mywebsite.com/category/blog-category/page/2/
https://www.mywebsite.com/category/blog-category/page/3/

Is there a way to change the meta description for each of the blog post index pages? Will Google be penalising me for this?

Duplicate Title and Meta Description on Date/Language/Production Archive

Hello,

The plugin is perfect but you see there is no way to control the meta descriptions and titles of the three archives I have stated.

1. Date – Domain.com/movies/date/2015
2. Production – Domain.com/movies/production/marvels
3. Language – Domain.com/movies/language/english

Is there a way we can have different titles and meta descriptions for these three pages. At the moment these takes homepage’s title and meta description.

If there is nowway to do above thing, then please guide me to put NOINDEX tag in these three archives.

For some reason the plugin is using the meta description from my first post on the category page, do you know why? I have added a description for the Category page and I don’t have Autogenerate Descriptions checked.

Seeing the following in webmaster tools:

Pages with duplicate meta descriptions Pages
Bluereek blog addresses areas relevant to management consulting services provided by Bluereek Limited
/bluereek-blog/
/bluereek-blog/page/2/

When I look in Pages I can see ‘blereek blog’ – but nothing titled ‘/bluereek-blog/page/2

However page exists – and I would like to remove.

Google Reports Duplicate Metas on Categories

Hello.

Google just re-indexed my site and this is after I implemented SEO Ultimate.
They are reporting duplicate meta descriptions for all of my categories – when each should just be one.

This is an example:

Interior Design
/?cat=28
/category/design/interior-design/
/design/interior-design/

It is displaying ONE for the category number (no idea why), one for the proper category and then another with the word “category” preceding (that I have NO CLUE where that is coming from)

I didn’t want to set categories to ‘no index’ since they are an important aspect of the content on my site.

In the Seo Ultimate Meta Description Editor – What are the variables we can use as settings? Right now in categories, it is “{description}” – is that having an affect on this issue?

This is probably a silly question but I’ve just updated the plugin and the last time I updated I set off a ton of duplicate meta descriptions in GWT (some of them still haven’t cleared out of my account), do I need to check the following setting to prevent it from happening again “Remove Descriptions For Paginated Pages:”

Hi there, does anybody know how to add a meta description for an Archive pages (such as Years and Months)
Example:
/bl?og/?201?2/0?4/
/bl?og/?201?2/0?5/
/bl?og/?201?2/0?6/
/bl?og/?201?2/0?7/
/bl?og/?201?2/0?8/
/bl?og/?201?3/0?3/

Google webmaster tool shows: ‘Duplicate Meta Descriptions’ for these Archive pages and i’d like to change the Meta but don’t know how.
Any advice is very welcome.
