Safari Cannot Open Page

I am only able to log into my wp-login dashboard about once a day from safari on my macbook at my house. However, our other admins are able to log on using PCs at different locations. I am able to get to the login screen and after I enter the correct credentials… The error I am getting is
Safari can’t open the page “——-/wp-login.php” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs….
I have tried to clear out all the history and rest safari and nothing works. The front end works just fine and all other administrators are able to log into the dashboard fine. I called the host and nothing was happening on their end.. I called my ISP and they said nothing was wrong that they could see. Any suggestions?

Dropped Server Connection

We have about 700 users. Sending to all the users, i get a server dropped connection error a couple minutes into the process. As an administrator, I get the email, but I’m afraid some of the users are not getting the email and maybe I’m getting it since Administrator starts with A We’re using an SMTP Mailer (the one by wpecommerce) to send mail from the site. I’m not sure if it’s a host setting for timeout or something in the plugin or wordpress to adjust but any ideas would be appreciated.

Server drops connection when trying to save, edit, or view posts

I’m pretty new to WordPress so I’m just learning the technical stuff. My blog was working fine until two nights ago when I noticed one of the images on the main page was blank whereas all the rest were fine. The page was not able to load. When I went to try to eliminate the image, I was able to do so, but I couldn’t save the post, so nothing took. Instead, I got a message that said:

“Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “https://thelaymansanswerstoeverything.com/wp-admin/post.php” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

The same thing happened when I tried to save or preview other pages as well, BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. Some of them worked. I could save a new post if it was small. If it had an image or a lot of text, same thing would happen.

I have tried:
??Deleting the bad image from my hosts file manager: Could do, but didn’t help anything
? Delete the post: Also didn’t help (still couldn’t save posts)
? Replace the SQL database with the one I’d saved a few weeks ago (when it was working fine). Still no difference.
?Restored all the files to what they were several weeks ago. Still nothing.
? Went back to the default theme. Nada. Still couldn’t save/edit/preview
?Deactivated all plug-ins. Didn’t help.

Not really sure what else to do. The same issue happened on Firefox. GoDaddy says there’s nothing on their end.

Anyone out there have any suggestions??? This may have nothing to do with the image at all. But strange that it got messed up at the same time!

2.0.7 to 2.3.2 upgrade: “Failed to open page”

I’m trying to upgrade from 2.0.7 to 2.3.2, and hope this is not a dumb question (I did try to find similar problems in the forum first). I carefully followed the Detailed Upgrade Instructions in the codex, including disabling any plugins. I deleted all appropriate files before the upgrade attempt (i.e. didn’t just copy over). I’ve tried this many times and have to keep reverting back to 2.0.7 because I simply cannot get it to work (I had tried awhile ago with 2.2 or 2.3 and had the same problem).

So what happens? Well, when I open the wp-admin/upgrade.php page (or any other page), I get this:

Failed to open page

Safari can’t open the page “https://blog.tenuousconnections.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later.

My database is set up correctly, because I don’t get any database connection errors (note that if I do deliberately set the wrong password or remove the wp-config.php file entirely, I get the appropriate WordPress error page).

I don’t have a .htaccess file, because I’m not using the pretty permalinks. Any ideas? Unfortunately I don’t think I can look at the error logs, since I don’t run the server. Would this be necessary, to track down what’s going on?

homepage doesn’t load; server unexpectedly drops the connection

my homepage URL won’t load.

after the browser tries to load for a minute unsuccessfully I keep get the message “Safari can’t open the page “https://outhereinohio.com/” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy.”

i can however access the log in page and admin the entire site, including viewing individual posts, just not viewing the site like the normal viewing experience of going to the homepage.

i called my hosting service – godaddy – they said the server is working, that there might be a problem with the .htaccess file

the file reads:

does anyone see a problem in the htaccess file?
