I am trying to reduce my DNS lookups to optimize page speed a bit.
I got rid of most unnecessary stuff but I am struggling with the following:
player.vimeo.com: 1 component, 16.3K (5.2K GZip)
www.youtube.com: 1 component, 0.8K
s.ytimg.com: 1 component, 67.1K (24.7K GZip)
I have no videos from youtube or vimeo embedded (I had one from youtube which I deleted) so I don’t know why those sources are requested.
Does anyone have an idea how I can find the page / the plugin causing the DNS lookup or how I can prevent my page from requesting those DNS?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards
Chris
After lot of recommendations from many people i have downlaoded the W3 Total Cache plugin with the high expectations that this plugin will resolve my issues & help me in improving the page speed but it did absolutely opposite.
Could you please help me to resolve below issue.
1. Reduce DNS lookups
2. Use cookie free domain
3. Add expires headers
4. Minimize redirects
Thanks a lot in advance.
Thanks & Regards

I have been told by my new hosting company that I could reduce the loading time of my site’s pages if I changed all links to show file name when it comes to DNS lookups. My previous web developer is telling me that it is not possible because of the way perma-links are handled in WordPress, it must go thru the DNS lookups.
I am hoping to get clarification as there is a reason they are now my previous web developer. Not sure if I am being told this as they charged me for an enhancement to reduce page loading time because they stated initially this was not an option to reduce page loading time.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Here is an example IE:
