exe and dmg Do Not Work

I’ve installed the plugin, selected those two file types, and I still get the error message: “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.”

Thank you for this plugin & for your amazing support. I am subscribed to the EDD plugin and am impressed by the support!

I would like to use the file format of .dmg for one of my downloads, but the file always downloads as empty when going through EDD. I can directly download the file from the website file manager fine, but when downloading from an EDD link, the file is empty.

I found the form in FAQ to request excluding the checkout page from being cached, but that doesn’t seem to be my problem since the cart is not empty & I can serve other file formats such as .zip and .exe without an issue. (I went back to .zip when I couldn’t get .dmg files to work previously, but it is essential now to be able to serve .dmg files.)

I was under the impression that this plugin would allow a dmg file to be uploaded to WP but every time I do I get the following error messages:

Can't download a .dmg file from Uploads folder.

I have a .dmg file and a .exe file in a subfolder under downloads. Each file is linked from an image on the same page of my site. The .exe file downloads as expected, but the .dmg file brings a 404 error from either a MAC or Win pc.
I have uploaded a fresh copy of the file, even tried a different .dmg file with the same name. The file is visible in filezilla (ftp client) but won’t download either from the site, or typing the address in the address bar. It does download through filezilla.
I realize this may not bed a wordpress issue, but I need your help.

I have this “strange” problem and I do not know where I should look for solution.

On our page we have 2 files to download. One is .ZIP, another .DMG The problem we have is when you download .zip the browser will show you file size, but when you download .DMG it will not.

I know this is not wordpress problem but I hope that someone here has an idea what is wrong.
