Limit "Latest Post Displays" to One Post Rather Than Two

Currently, my home page (someweekendreading.com) has the Latest Blog Posts widget enabled. The home page currently displays two posts, one in each column. It appears that the minimum number of posts is 2 in the drop down menu.

Settings:
Choose How many posts on Homepage: Minimum is 2
Choose how many post columns on Homepage: Minimum is 2

I’d like to test displaying the full content of the most recent post only, then add a “Read More” button below and link to the archive of all past issues.

Is there any way to restrict the Latest Blog Post widget to display the full text of one post rather than a summary or thumbnail of the two most recent posts?

How can I control the amount of words the excerpt is? Because it’s displaying the entire post in the sidebar

The widget works to display post titles, but does the options to open in new tab, display thumbnails and show experpts are greyed out. Am I missing something?

I’m trying to display my blogs posts since a while, long ago It works perfectly but now I got this:

An error occurred while downloading blog information:
An error occurred fetching the remote data.

Detailed information:

Hi,

I have the following blog, where I’m using the “Display WordPress Posts (Jetpack)” widget:

The widget should draw posts from here:

However, I’ve noticed that the feed hasn’t been updating since February 23.

I’m using the WP Fastest Cache plugin, but I have tried both clearing cache and disabling it without any impact.

Anything else I can try?

I am getting an error on “Display WordPress Posts” section, stating this:

“An error occurred fetching the remote data”
Detailed information:
Forbidden

I have three “Display WordPress Posts” sections on my site, each linking to another website of my own. (three other sites). Two of them work OK, one does not.

Display WordPress Posts shows on the bottom of abcdiamond.com and the 2nd Recent Posts should show posts from brisbanebayside.com

Any idea why it doesn’t.

Widgets ?Display WordPress Posts

I have downloaded Jetpack on two wordpress sites that I manage and wanted to display a recent posts list on one of them from the other site.

I followed the instructions and used the Display WordPress posts widget. I have entered the title and URL of the related site and placed the widget in the relevant sidebar.

I have tried this with the URL address from the home page and from a featured posts subpage and have the same results

on the home page I am getting a message that reads “We cannot load blog data at this time”

Can you advise what could cause this error.

On my site https://josenation.com, I am trying to load posts from https://hellisforchildren.net, but I receive the “We cannot load blog data at this time” error in my sidebar widget. Please note that I do not have the widget on my homepage, but on all interior pages.

If I alter the address that I’m pulling from, like, if I add “www” to it, it will pull posts into the widget for like 15 minutes, but then stop again.

When trying to add recent posts from another wordpress blog as a widget in my sidebar, I get this error: We cannot load blog data at this time.

I have this problem on both of my wordpress sites, and have had this issue for almost a month.

What could be the issue here?

Using the Display WordPress Posts in https://LakePath.com to pull blog feed in from https://LeLacAppelle.com

It had been working quite well, but recently I’ve noticed that the blog is not visible sometimes with this message in its place: “We cannot load blog data at this time.”

LakePath.com is successfully connected to JetPack. I’m really not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but I run JetPack/Debug, it displays “Your Jetpack setup looks a-okay!”, then I refresh LakePath.com and the blog is visible again.

Still running JetPack v3.2.1

Would upgrading to v3.3 resolve this?
