My Host transferred my WP site from the /httpdocs/wordpress directory to the httpdocs directory.
The site comes up perfectly, however the images do not. In their place is a box with a red X and their URL.
Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

]]>Thanks to your help I have now finished modifying a WP site for a client. I’ve succesfuly migrated it onto his hosting service. However, the site was installed as https://theroofingcrew.co.uk/blog and I need to change it just to https://theroofingcrew.co.uk
I’ve tried just changing it in the database wp-options but that just breaks the site. I’m thinking this should be an easy one but yet don’t want to venture any further and risk screwing up the migration which was a bit tricky to begin with.
As always any help will be much appreciated! Oh, his hosting service is at 123-reg.co.uk.
Thanks!
]]>I am a total newbie in the web world and also in wordpress. Today I was editing bits and pieces on my new blog, and foolishly changed the wordpress directory and site directory under general settings i changed them both to spisdinaltan.dk, and then i got the error message. I have now logged in to the support site for Giving WordPress Its Own Directory but i dont understand most of it.
Therefore my question is :
1) can i undo the change of directories, i cant log in?
2) if I am to fix the problem where should I start?
Help I dont have a clue
]]>Side newbie question – My profile shows I’m a WP consultant and I’m clearly not but I can’t see how to change it when I edit my profile (you either check the box or you don’t, and I didn’t).
Thanks for your help!!

]]>I’m using WordPress for a CMS and recently moved it from one directory to another. I had to manually change some library links and permalinks on the database but for the life of me can’t figure out what’s going on with the author post filter and leave a comment links.
Here is my post page for the site I’m working on. When you hover over the link to see all posts made by the author, in this case ryan, the link reads: glacialpace.comauthor/ryan/ completely ignoring the directory. As for the comments, when you hover over the leave a comment link it’s reading as a #respond option even when I’m logged out. I’m hoping these two issues are somehow related.
I have a test database and WordPress on my local server and after switching directories had the same problem.
I apologize if this has been posted before but I couldn’t find anything specific to this issue.
Danke!
]]>I prepare a new version of a website in a sub-folder of the main directory of the host. The website was visible at an adress like https://mydomain.org/wordpress/ Everything was ok until the moment when I tried to target the web address to the main folder of wordpress (want to have the site at this address https://mydomain.org/. The host told me that we have to move the files in order to have the website under the web address (no way to joined the web address with a sub-folder).
So, what are the parameters, files I have to modify in order to have wordpress working well?
Hope you will be able to help me,
Thanks in advance,
Best regards

Now I want to move the WordPress version onto the directory “blog.” I renamed the directory used by the Blogger version so that there’s not currently a “blog” directory.
But when I follow the directions in Moving WordPress Within Your Site, I keep getting stuck.
1. If you will be moving your WordPress core files to a new directory, create the new directory.
No problem. I create a new directory called “blog”. I login, go to the Administration > Settings > General panel, and then…
4. In the box for WordPress address (URI): change the address to the new location of your main WordPress core files.
5. In the box for Blog address (URI): change the address to the new location, which should match the WordPress address (URI).
When I try to change “https://mydomain.info/blog1” to “https://mydomain.info/blog” I get this message:
Warning: Modifying this field will cause your permalinks to malfunction. We strongly recommend that you do not change this field.
Please note that this field should match the web address of your blog installation directory. If you chose to make your blog your home page when you installed WordPress, your blog was automatically configured to display at your domain. You should NOT change the value of this field to match your domain.
If anybody out there has been through this before, can you please tell me how I can get my WordPress blog onto the directory “blog” without breaking my permalinks?
