Expected scenario after deleting account / plugin

Hello,

First of all, I would like to say this plugin is a very interesting initiative. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been trying to test it yesterday on a clean install of WordPress, but unfortunately run into some issues mentioned in other places. I’m still investigating, however my Site Health page shows that “Your WebFinger endpoint does not return valid JSON”. Which was not true (?), as I was able to see the content under the provided link. So I decided to continue the test and saw that my account indeed can be searched in Mastodon.

Then I created another admin account and deleted the old one. However, the old account never disappeared in the search in Mastodon. Is it a bug, or anything I create will stay there like this? I’m a bit afraid of testing further, as I don’t want to leave a trace of garbage under my domain in the search results.
I tried to deactivate the plugin in hope this will solve the issue, probably making the whole server disappear. However, the account was still visible in the search. The only thing that changed, was a list of followed accounts on my private account – the test account disappeared there and the number updated correctly. What is really an expected scenario in a case of deactivating the plugin? Will Fediverse account just disappear and people following it will need to follow it again?

I’m a bit new to the concept of Fediverse, so please bear with me.

Deleting Plugin Data out of Website Data

Hi! I deleted the Plugin because I wanted to reset it to it’s original state and set it up new. However, when I reinstall the Plugin, it takes over the old preferences which obviously doesn’t help with what I am trying to do.

I know I can delete the data in the backend of my website, I believe in the options.php document. However I am unsure if that’s true or what exactly to delete.

I’d appreciate some advice on this! Thanks

Deleted the plugin but it’s still redirecting

Long story but I had to temporarily delete the plugin in order to fix other links on the website; however, the redirection I set up with the plugin is still happening. How do I get that to stop? I thought deleting the plugin would do just that.

How do I delete these cron events permanently?

Deleting iThemes Security Plugin. If I delete it will it cause problems?

I have a question, if I deactivate and completely delete the iThemes Security WordPress Plugin (the free version) by deleting it will this cause problems for me down the line? Did iThemes Security Plugin change any of my files (salts, user id’s etc) that by deleting it might cause issue later?
I dont remember where but I think I read that by simply deleting the iThemes Security Plugin it does NOT revert any of the things it changed and by removing the plugin one could never by able to fully revert to before iThemes Security days.
If so, how could I delete iThemes Security in a safe a proper manner?
I wanted to remove it from just one of my sites.

Error Deactivating, Deleting or Installing Plugins

I’ve encountered an issue today that I’ve never seen before. I have been trying to uninstall Ajax Event Calendar because it says that magic quotes is on my server… I have GoDaddy hosting and they say this is not the case. I tried all the fixes suggested in the plugin’s support forum and none of them worked so I simply decided to go with a different calendar, however, whenever I deactivate ANY of the plugins (because I saw a few junk ones in there that I don’t need) none of them are saving as deactivated and I get this message when I click to delete them:

That seems to be something with my theme, right? This has never happened before, however, and I’m thoroughly confused and not sure what to do from here. When I tried to just skip the plugins and install a new one, it showed that it was successful but is not showing in my list of plugins now. I’m totally at a loss. The website, if it’s necessary for assistance, is blisstival.com.

Can't delete inactive NextGEN plugin

Hi there,

I’m having a few issues on my site and trying to clear plugins I’m not currently using to make sure they are not the cause.

I’m not able to delete NextGEN Gallery from my MultiSite network admin dashboard. When I click delete I get a server 500 error.

If I choose to delete the plugin folder via FTP will that leave any lines of code in wordpress (that could potentially cause problems)? Or how else is best to remove it for now?

Deleting a plugin without access to admin OR FTP

Hi, I am at a very frustrating dead end. I errantly installed a plugin last week that redirects the wp-admin page to a “Page not found” on the front end of the site.

I understand that you need to go into a file directory to delete the plugin that is causing this redirect loop. Well, my issue is, this site was built by a separate party who created the site, sent the admin login info, and that’s it. I don’t know how to access the server, they no longer have the information and cannot help me. So I have been unable to connect to the file directories through FTP.

My question is, is there another way to fix this problem besides going into the file directory? I just want to be able to login to my site.
