Media Import adding -1 to each image file

I’m attempting to import media into a new installation. It’s a huge library of images and the imports have failed, incomplete. I’ve deleted the partial imports and started over after editing my xml into a number of smaller xml’s, but it doesn’t look like those deletions were complete. You know how, if you leave a page in ‘trash’ and then save another with the same name a ‘-1’ is added to the end? That’s what’s happening with the images when I attempt to re-import them. An image called feather.jpg becomes feather1.jpg. Of course, that loses the file associations. How can I truly, fully delete these images so these ‘ghosts’ disappear?

Automatically deleting images associated with deleted events

However, most events include one or more images and they accumulate in my WP media library very quickly. When your plugin is set to automatically delete old events, will it also delete images associated with the events from my media library?

Deleting theme generated post thumbnails

hi, i am in trouble with theme generated thumbnails. i have imported around 10000 posts almost with 50000 images. Then custom theme generated 23 thumbnails for each image. Now i have more than 200 gb uploads folder. I need some help. How can i bulk delete thumbnails from uploads folder and database? Thanks in advance.

I need to delete 100’s of images from products that have been retired from my website. If I delete them from the Media Library, will the thumbnails for those images be deleted too?

What is the best way to do this to make sure no thumbnails are left in the server?

I’m not sure if this is in the right forum, but I am trying to get rid of the “Create new beautiful blogs in minutes” image on the side (that links back to the theme creator’s website). I’ve inspected the element on google chrome and have tried to insert it into the find and replace html plug in I have, but it will not go away. Any suggestions? I am new to wordpress and have no idea how to even start fixing the html.

I want to remove posts + pages + Woocommerce products.
BUT, I want to remove any images that are used as well.

Is there a plugin for this?

I’ve searched and can’t find.
To be honest: I don’t know what I should search for.

I remember seeing in the past some sort of cleaners that went through the website and found unattached images and removed. I can’t seem to find now.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Can't seem to delete images

Hi, really silly of me but I have somehow clicked on something which previously allowed me to delete images – now when I click on the “delete permanently” link in the media library, or any delete option, such as in my Meta Slider Plug-in, nothing happens.

I had a pop-up box kept coming up when I was deleting old stock from my library and I checked the box on it thinking it would just mean it didn’t pop up, but now I can’t delete things – can any help?

Nor can I delete via the bulk selector!!!

Woocommerce Deleting Multiple images in Product Gallery

Hi I have uploaded / imported all my products to woocommerce via WP Importer..

Successfully done over 800 items..

But each product now has 800 images in their image galleries

So each of the 800 products now has 800 images in the image gallery..

Manually deleted these individually is taking a long time..

Can anyone explained what happened here…. and how I can delete the image galleries of each product quickly and easily..

Cannot Delete Images From Media Library

Hi There,

I hope someone can help me with this issue. I am using “regency” theme by Yithemes. I cannot delete images from the media library. The ” bulk Select” option does not work in gallery view and in the list view the check boxes are missing next to each image so they cannot be selected. If I open up each image to the “attachment details” page the “Delete Permanently” and “edit more details” links are missing.

I have tried deleting via FTP and that doesn’t work either. I have tried changing themes to twenty fifteen and disabled all plugins and it still doesn’t work. I have had my hosting provider and the theme developer look into the issue and they couldn’t solve it.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions.

deleting images

i inserted an image on to my homepage by clicking on “set featured image”

I selected to place the image on the top right side of the page. it came out on the top left side. so then decided to get rid of it by clicking “remove featured image” and it wouldnt go away.

so i went into the gallery and deleted the image. now my homepage has a thumbnail on the top left side. how do i get rid of it?
