In the wordpress site health console, I get a warning about removing inactive themes if I have twenty twenty two installed (using a custom theme and different parent theme), but if I remove it I get a warning about not having a default theme installed. What is the correct configuration?

I want to chose a default theme to keep things simple and when i have a question, ask here and get the answer easiest – is my thinking correct, i mean using default theme has such advantage right?

also i can still customize to my need, and customizing the default theme again would be the easiest as far as understanding and getting support here right?

any other advantages or disadvantages using one of default themes?

In cleaning up and securing my website, I remove the default themes. However, when the next version of WordPress automatically updates my site, the default themes are added back in.

Is there a setting in WordPress to ignore installing any removed default themes during any future updates?

I would also like similar options for any removed default plugins, or anything else underneath the wp-content directory that was removed by the admin(s) (except the framework directory structure, of course).

I suppose there could also be an option to re-install default themes, plugins, etc.

The new WordPress 5.2 Site Health has suggested to remove unused themes. I done this now i see the security suggestion:

Your site does not have a default theme. The default themes are automatically used, from WordPress, if something should go wrong with your normal theme.

This is translated from Italian.
A link open the theme installed but i don’t see a button to set a predefined theme. How i can fix this issue? Is not clear, WordPress is not helping me on fix this as the suggestion is incomplete.

Will the older default themes, e.g., Twenty Eleven, get obsolete after some years? Or can we keep on using these with periodic updates for ever?

I don’t see this theme being used other than a starting point for other themes to be built from it. I still like the the Twenty Fifteen far better for its design style for a blog. I only wish the design concept for this one was given more attention…although that is a subjective preference, I’m sure many will like it more.

There are some new coding methods and elements within this theme that does provide other theme developers something to work from. It definitely loads very fast, although due to the limited features and structure, that is expected. It does offer some new ideas.

I have wordpress installed locally onto my laptop using wampserver and the default themes will not load. I can not see them with Live Preview either. I’m not sure but I believe it has something to do with files not being in the right place. Please help!

I just created a new wordpress account for one of my clients in my shared hosting pro package and was looking through the themes on there to choose from and they are all old versions from like 2008 and are ones like Zerif Lite version 1.8.3.0??? Why are there not recent versions to choose from instead of these really old themes?

I know this is probably going to irritate quite a few Theme Developers, BUT please review this recent request that another end-user posted, and I responded to:

It seems to me that the recent integration of the Theme Customizer into the Core should make this option possible for ALL new themes.

(Maybe I’m wrong since I’m not a coder…but it sure would be nice !)
