We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the ejdkkj_main55t45gg87hjHYHTyj7gu46y435tf3 database.
Now to make some things clear.
– The installation is fresh.
– The wp-config.php file is configured correct maing the correct db name.
– I started 2 sites without any issues and they are using the correct DB name which is configured in the wp-config.php file.
– The “ejdkkj_main55t45gg87hjHYHTyj7gu46y435tf3” db name is an old DB that i used in a previous installation that I have deleted (both installation and database).
So with this said, I do not understand why this old database is suddenly turning up in my new wp multisite installation. There is simply no entries of it in wp-config.php. So I’m the logical guess is that the old database name ins a remnant from the old installation since i did not delete the old wordpress installation files but reused them…
– I re-used the files from the old wordpress installation, so i did not delete them. I updated the wp-config to the new database settings etc.
So which file could hold this old information? It is clearly not wp-config…
Thanks in advance for answers/advise on this.

]]>Ive been using Godaddy shared hosting and recently moved to the Virtual Dedicated Server. Ive done everything that was instructed:
1. downloaded files and uploaded them to my new server
2. restored mysql database
3. Changed connection strings in wp-config.php file
But I am getting the error Error establishing a database connection when i go to my domain (www.pokermedley.com)
I have tried so many things and my site has been offline for many days now.
I am using Plesk control panel
Possibilities:
1. Currently my Database hostname is “localhost”, godaddy support confirms this is correct, but maybe its wrong?
2. in the phpmyadmin there is a message at the bottom: Your PHP MySQL library version 5.0.90 differs from your MySQL server version 5.5.20. This may cause unpredictable behavior.
3. I uploaded too many files? in the godaddy instructions they say only to upload wp-content folder but I uploaded everything…
4. Shall I delete all the other files that are in the File Manager (the ones that I did not upload)?
Please help, any suggestions are welcomed.
Thank you very much in advance.
Has anyone else had this error, and if so, found a solution?
