Intermittent Error establishing database connection

Hello. I have had intermittent ‘Error establishing a database connection’ since the last update I did in August. When I try to work on a product, I sometimes get the above error message, when I click on the browser back arrow I can then do edits. I have disabled all plugins (except woocommerce) and the error continues. I have disabled the theme and the error continues. I have requested help from ET (Divi) and they say it’s not on their side. I have requested assistance from the hosting provider (Xneelo.co.za) and they say it’s not on their side. I’m at such a loss and have tried all kinds of troubleshooting to no avail.

I had a developer roll back to the previous version of WooCommerce which helped slightly and for a few months but the problem is getting worse again.

Please I need assistance with this urgently. My client (who updates their own products) is losing the patience with me (fully understandable at this point).

Please, please, please can someone help me fix this problem.

Database connection error after migration

Hello,

I migrated my website to another hosting service, but I get a database connection error when I try to access it.

I started with downloading the database and public_html folder from the old hosting service. Moved my domain to the new hosting party and created a new database with a fresh wordpress install. I then edited the old wp-config file with the new data, and uploaded all the website data through Filezilla to the new database. I also accessed phpmyadmin through the new hosting party and uploaded the old database to the new database. I did not change my domain name. What did I miss? And why do I still get the database connection error?

I tried everything I could think of, and would really like your insights on this issue. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Two eCommerce websites, 2 similar error messages

Hello, I am a website designer and recently I have had two separate websites with error messages.

Both are WordPress, Divi, WooCommerce sites. Hosted with different service providers. The only plugin that is on both websites is Yoast. Everything is updated on both.

Sussex-biltong.com is showing this error on the backend:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Scrubsrx.co.za is showing this error on the backend which is intermittent:

Both websites also display this error on the WooCommerce home page:

Please can someone assist as I have done a lot of problem solving with the scrubs website for weeks now and still haven’t solved the problems.

Intermittent ‘Error establishing database connection’

Please can someone assist? I’m getting an error but it’s intermittent when I try and edit a product. The error is ‘Error establishing database connection’, when this appears I click on the browser back arrow and then I can edit.
I have done the following to try and resolve the issue

1 – Database credentials are correct: Checed wp-config.php for correct Database name, Database username, Database password, Database server. All is in order here

2 – Repair and optimise database – done and no errors found

3 – I have checked that the database is pointing to the web host, which it is.

4 – Check database server – successful. Server has enough connections.

5 – Check if plugins are the problem. Deactivated all plugins except WooCommerce and WordPress. Error still occurred. Reactivated plugins.

6 – Hosting provider suggested I install one or both of these plugins to pick up errors, Query Monitor and F12 Monitor. Query Monitor initially picked up backwpup with a line error so I deactivated this plugin. F12 Monitor didn’t show any errors.

Hosting provider also mentioned.
‘Error establishing a database connection means that the website created too many connections to it’s database at the same time. We have limited each database on shared servers to 10 concurrent database connections at the same time

As the error is intermittent, it most likely exceeded the 10 concurrent database connections while you are working on the site. This will especially happen when performing updates or opening several tabs to the site at one time. When an 11th connection is attempted, the error will occur. There is no way to increase this as your website is on a shared server.

Ideally, the database connections should only last a few milliseconds,I would advise optimising the database so that long running/sleeping queries are properly closed/terminated. ‘

I have repaired and optimised the database.

I have also installed WP Super Cache

Today Query monitor is coming up with a Ajax:deprecated. I’m not sure what this means and how to fix it, but it wasn’t coming up initially

Every second week or so, we are having a Database connection error which brings the whole site down, this is happening until I purge cache on all pages.

This never happened on other sites, the only difference I can think of so far is that this site sits directly on DigitalOceans custom server. What could be the issue? As I said, the whole site is down (with DB conn err), until I purge cache from WP Optimize.

It is very strange, I’ve used this plugin on many sites and it works amazingly well.

Error accessing Network Administrator (after cahngeing the main site url)

I wanted to switch the main site between www.dentapoint.ro (main site) and a secondary site www.dentapoint.ro/2021. I couldn’t change the URL on the main site. After changing in the wp_config blog_ID, I was able to change the URL.
This is where the problem came in. After I changed the site name from dentapoint.ro to dentapoint.ro/old, I can no longer access the network administrator.

When I try to access de network admin I get db connection error

With all due respect, I have been building an e-commerce website for a client and its almost done and was working right till last evening. From the night its responding with a database connection error.
I’m not able to login to “/wp-admin” as its showing “Error establishing a database connection” too.
PHPmyadmin isn’t approachable.

5.4.1 update kills site – database connection error

I didn’t install 5.4.0 because of reports that it caused problems. But when 5.4.1 arrived I believed it to be a bugfix. However after installation my woocommerce site was unreachable either for a customer or admin login because attempted access for either resulted in ‘Error establishing database connection’.

After a full cpanel restore my site is working again. I have to say this is not the first time such a problem has occurred with woocommerce.

Skipping posts while import and cause server error

Hello. I have been using this plugin for about 2 years but I am facing serious problems lately. I hope you can help me.

I had no problem transferring 100’s of lines of CSV files, but although there were only 20 lines in my last import, it just created 2 posts and skipped the rest and the process ended. At the end of this process it consumed all the resources of the server and gave “database connection error” and shut down my website. I already followed some of your error solutions, like lowering the iteration to 1.

Have you encountered an error like this?
If you are faced with such a situation, I expect all kinds of help.

Edit: I don’t have the same issue on a localhost environment.
