The install for Persistence goes OK and it is potentially a very useful add-on to Gravity Forms. The problem comes in Form Settings. The box labeled “Enable form persistence” will not stay checked after updating form settings. This is true even after also checking “Require user to be logged in” is checked and the “Require Login Message” box is filled out. I have tried this in both Chrome and Firefox. Many users on the forums have also had this same problem. There is very little documentation for this add-on and the developer, Astha, is either unable or unwilling to support it. Gravity Forms simply points you to the developer for support, which, after multiple attempts, has been nonexistent. A persistence plugin for Gravity Forms has great promise, but I wish Gravity Forms would put one out so it would work and be supported.

Persistence occurring across users

One of my clients is experiencing an issue where when forms have Persistence turned on, certain users will be able to see the previous user’s entries in the form. These users are not sharing the same location, IP address, browser, anything. The site does have cacheing turned on for site speed and performance. Have you folks ever experienced this issue before? A bit of a security risk.

I have a pretty long form that will take 20mins+ to complete.

If the user should accidentally close the browser or their computer goes to sleep mid-form completion, is there a way to maintain the part-completed form so their data is not lost and can be picked up again next time?

Data Persistence

When submitting a form and receiving an input error (e.g. required field not answered or incorrectly entered) all of the uploads are immediately lost.

This happens particularly often when using a captcha in the form, since they are often incorrectly answered. Also, when using a multi-page form, and the client uses the PREVIOUS/NEXT buttons, all files are lost upon return.

There are some free plugins that help solve data persistence in Gravity Forms, but sadly they don’t seem to work for this plugin.

Is there an simple way to fix this at our end, or would a larger update to the plugin be required? Thanks!

But I would to “reset” the data fields of the page after clicking “previous” button. How can I do this ?

hi, first off, thank you soooo much for making this … it’s such a sorely needed functionality for gravity forms

i have a really really long form, it’s 5 pages and 3 of the pages are super super long … when clicking next / previous thru the form, each page loading takes a ridiculously long time.

are there any ways of speeding this up? i’m guessing i should likely break the form up into smaller forms and possibly that would help?

any thing else i can do?

Hi, it seems that this add on is super unsupported but thought I’d ask anyway… do you have to check the “enable data pers..” box for each field that you want to make persistent? Is there a way to get a “save” button, or let a user know that if they need to leave the page that their work will be saved? Thx.

Data Persistence Housekeeping

Once a partially completed form is committed to the database (in wp-options table), does it remain for a certain period of time or is it there in perpetuity cluttering up the table or are these records eventually purged after a certain amount of time?

I don’t see anything in the plugin that would remove old records. Perhaps another option which should be added to the Form Settings where the plugin is enabled would be an option to remove temporary partial records after XX days. Then, each time the plugin is hit, it can do a sweep to clean/purge records older than a certain number of days.

First off – great plugin! It’s worked really well.

Does anyone know how I can view the saved information of a form before it has been submitted?

We are using GF for an application. The deadline is passed but we want to be able to look at partially completed forms.
