I have a web site to search for engine parts with references with this nomenclature: 02-40903-02
If I do this exact search: 02-40903-02
It shows me in the results the 3 correct parts. But it also returns parts with results like: 02-40903-01 or 71-40903-00.
I would like the hyphenated word searches to be more precise and not return approximate results.
I have deactivated the Fuzzy search in the plugin options but it still returns results that I don’t want.
How can I fix this?

]]>It seems with the update to 5.3 any custom parameters with dashes no longer work. For example if it is like %%para-meter%% the shortcode when inserted into a page will show “-meter” and will not show anything else. Custom parameters with underscores and no dashes work just fine. I never really used underscores before, but did use a lot of dashes in my parameters… so I was wondering if this can be fixed or if this was intended at all?
Thanks!

]]>So if I search for 207-90 it finds all 207 and there are a lot of them, I have tried going into advanced indexing settings and either keeping the dash or removing it but then the search finds nothing.
example of problem https://www.hamabeads.com/?s=207-90
any ideas thanks
]]>Was just wondering how I would go about changing URLs that used to look like this :
https://www.example.com/news/detail/this_is_my_news_story_slug
to
https://www.example.com/news/detail/this-is-my-news-story-slug
(The example.com is obviously just an example in this case ).
My problem is that the existing URLs are news posts so could have many underscores in them or only a few depending upon the title of the news post.
Thanks to anyone in advanced for any help with this.
Best wishes,

]]>I need to import a CPT, coming out of the current WP installation of a client, into a new WP install. I’ve exported the cpt with the export function of her current site.
However, this old cpt has a slug with dashes, so I can’t make the CPT ready for the import because CPT UI forces me to use underscores for the slug. Rewriting the slug from the CPT UI name ‘my_work’ to ‘my-work’ does create the CPT in my dashboard, but the import fails and I get the error ‘Failed to import: invalid post type my-work’.
So this workaround: https://docs.pluginize.com/article/135-dashes-in-post-type-taxonomy-slugs-for-url-seo didn’t work in my case. I’ve tested it more than once.
Then I installed the plugin WP Rollback and I went back to CPT UI version 1.2.4, which is the version who allows me to use dashes. The import went flawlessly with that version!
My question: is it possible that in the recent version of the plugin you give us the choice between using dashes or underscores from the beginning? This would solve a lot of problems when an old cpt needs to be imported.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Thanks and kind regards,
Straccia
