I’m looking for a way to add extra custom user fields to the WooCommerce checkout for when a first time buyer checks out and registers at the same time. Ideally this would be a plugin rather than PHP coding via hooks. These fields could typically be for a secondary contact phone number, email, etc. I just want to be sure that when the customer checks out (and registers to become a full WordPress user) that these fields are saved as user_meta fields, and they don’t just become order_meta fields or part of the WooCommerce ‘customer’ object – i.e. they need to be linked to the core WordPress user object and appear on the user profile page in WordPress admin (similar to how billing and shipping fields appear, but preferably in a separate section). I know how to add extra fields to the registration form (either standard WordPress or WooCommerce), but this would need to be part of the checkout form.

Custom User Fields NOT WORKING

I cannot add any new user field group or field in the settings dashboard. I just click the add button and nothing happens. Even if I change the text of an existing group (there is only one group made so far) it does not allow me to save changes, the save changes button is greyed out. Any idea how or why this might be happening and how to resolve it? I am up-to-date with all plugins and WP.

Essentially, nothing works on the user fields settings page of the plugin. Frustrating. I have tried multiple browsers too and it’s the same issue on Chrome, FFox etc

Hello all,

I’m working on a website for record collectors. Currently, it’s a large database of records. Each record has its own page.

I’d like to let users create an account, then be able to say “I have this record” or “I want this record” and to be able to message each other about it.

I’d like to have a page for each members “Have list” and “want list” to be displayed.

What’s the best way to set up user accounts for this? I’m comfortable coding, just not sure exactly where to include exactly what code.

I want to add more fields to the registration form or when a user goes to checkout after the cart:
– VAT-Number
– PEC-Email-Adress
This information should also be editable later in the users my-account page.

Easy to use, simple plugin for custom profile fields. Unfortunately lacks clear documentation and instructions on how to use shortcodes properly. Perhaps some detailed examples would be useful. Shortcodes also dont appear to be available to use in gutenberg (included with latest WP version). Had to switch to classic editor to generate shortcodes. For basic usage this plugin is great, but for more advanced functionality we will likely use ACF instead.

I spent a week trying out CRM, user-management, LMS and similar plugins. Each one I tried that provided enough functionality without a charge I and my clients cannot afford was lacking in some respect or was actually not completely functioning and provided little or no helpful support. Each one I tried that provided enough functionality was overkill for my needs or expensive or both. Finally: Participants Database! It works well. It is intuitive. And where it isn’t intuitive and documentation is needed, for example for things you wouldn’t even know you wanted until you read about them, the documentation is written superbly well. I could not be more pleased.

Im am making a website which requires a user to enter a variety of details on registration. I have been able to add a few custom fields to the register-form.php.
I have three questions:
1 – how do i make fields mandatory and others non mandatory?
2 – Once the user has entered their details how can they edit them, in the dashboard only the generic fields are their but non of the custom fields that i have added into the php file.
3 – is there a short code for a edit details page similar to the pages that are setup for login, logout, register and forgot password?
