Has anyone had anything like this before? If so please advise.
Also am I correct in saying that using post name will serve me the same as custom structure, if anyone knows different please explain.
Thank you in advance.

]]>For instance, on my K-DRAMA REVIEW index page, none of the links work anymore. Prior to the update, the permalink worked fine at: https://www.jaehakim.com/entertainment-reviews/koreandramas/korean-dramas-index/korean-dramas-index/ (Now you get a 404/Page Not Found message)
After the update, it was shortened to: https://www.jaehakim.com/korean-dramas-index/ and no longer works. (I would hate to have to update each link individually, as I have many other index pages like this for other reviews.)
FWIW: I have checked everything to make sure my theme and plugins are all updated. And I have checked each of my plugins individually to see if deactivating them would fix the issue. But that’s not the case.
tl’dr: Everything on my website was working fine until yesterdays 6.0.3. update.
Thank you very much for any assistance and guidance.
]]>Id like to add /news/ before each of my news posts. Id normally do this in the Custom Structure area on WP. However, when i have done this (which of course works), it then adds /news/events etc before all of the SportsPress pages. Is there a way I can set my pages to use /news/news-post-example and my events to be /event/event-slug
Thanks,
Adam
www.site.com/blog/
www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/
www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/a-post-title/
To do this you set your “Custom structure” under settings -> permalinks to
“/blog/%category%/%postname%/”
You leave your Settings -> Optional -> “Category base” blank, and you will get the desired results above.
Issue: NAVxt adds superfluous /category/ permalink to link structure on single posts pages
On single posts ie. (www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/a-post-title/)
The breadcrumb CATEGORY link has an extra “/category/” string pre-pended to it, so the link to the category is output as follows
www.site.com/blog/category/a-category-name/
This is incorrect, based off your permalink settings, it should simply be.
www.site.com/blog/a-category-name/
I can’t be the only one to have noticed this?
Any chance of getting this fixed asap?
]]>I am using a static home page and have permalinks set to /%postname%/ custom structure.
]]>The setting looks like this:
Custom Structure without trailing slash at the end of URL.

Also a screen shot here:
The permalink works and it resolves OK, but I have been finding out some 404 error where the permalink breaks like you will see below and it can’t find the /%postname%
The ratio is about five (5) 404s per 300 request, and those 404s are starting to add up.
https://www.mysite.com/cars/
A little bit of background on this web site:
The original site was a site that was converted from a non-worpress site (Microsoft SQL) to a wordpress configuration. I created the ULR structure mentioned above to match the previous URL of the old site. The site has only 4 pages and about 3,000 posts. When implementing the URL and adding the word /cars/ I did not create any category or slug. I just inserted the word in the URL so I could match the old site requests.
Any ideas on what to do here it would be great. I have tried many things including Flushing Permalinks in WordPress via the “save settings’ on permalink dashboard.
Any help would be greatly appreciate.
]]>I am very new to Coursepress.
Im trying to create my first new course. And I think I have filled in every section needed. I have made the course LIVE.
But despite this, I only get a 404 page, when I click the Preview button in the wordpress admin/coursepress.
Please advice
Thanks
Stefan
I’ve investigated this problem for 2 days already, I can see there is an enormous amount of people having this issue and I couldn’t find single definitive answer to this problem.
I figured perhaps I should ask in a forum to explain my situation and perhaps explain better what’s happening in a hope to get a solution.
I’m having this problem with my actual website(that is live) but for testing purposes I just now installed brand new WP 4.5.3 copy on my local machine and the problem still EXISTS.
1. Installed brand new WordPress
2. Deleted all default plugins
3. Changed Permalink to /%category%/%postname%/
4. Changed “Category base” to “.” in order to get rid of that "/category/"
that appears in URL
5. Created a category called “Articles”
6. Created 13 dummy articles with random titles and body text
7. Visited my newly created category URL(127.0.0.1/wordpress/articles”
8. I see there 10 posts(since that’s what set by default in Reading) once I hit “old entries” button at the very bottom of the page to see my other 3 posts it redirects me to 12.0.0.1/wordpress/articles/page/2/ and throws this 404 page not found error
BUT… here is the thing….
If I get rid of that “.” in the “Category base” and allow that “/category/” to appear in URL address this fixes the problem! but then I gotta live with this “/category/” in a URL which I can’t since it’ll break my content structure and also it doesn’t look right with my website.
So, I guess my questions is…
How can keep that “/category/” stripped out from my URL but at the same time solve this going to second page(old queries) and getting this page not found error?
Thanks for the help
