No matter what I do, I cannot limit the number of blog posts on my site using Author Theme.

I used both Settings/Reading and Customizer to limit the blog posts to 10 on the blog page.

I have it set up (and saved) as a static page in Homepage settings with my ‘About’ page being the homepage and ‘Blog’ as the posts page.

My site is hosted by Siteground and I purged the SG cache and refreshed the page after each attempt to fix this.

I’d be grateful for any suggestions.

Custom blog page to add slider

I love Themelia clean appearance, but I need to include a slider below the header to add some news. There are a few plugins for creating sliders, but I cannot find a way to include the shortcode on the (main) blog page, nor a way to create a custom blog page where to do that.

Do you have any idea about how to do that?

I asked another question about this but I don’t think I clearly described what I am looking for. My apologies! We have a site in local development with a static front page and a page for posts, which will be our blog. There doesn’t seem to be any way to customize the style of this blog page that lists posts specifically. Such as adding a sidebar, adding widgets, etc. I am unable to add or manipulate any Gutenberg blocks on the page. Is there a workaround for this or is this a case where I need to edit php files? There doesn’t seem to be any option to choose a specific template in page attributes either.

Menu for custom blog page

CPA Site Solutions created a custom blog page for us on WordPress to match our site. I could like to include a menu on the blog page, where people can click and view previous blogs. I tried adding menu on the wordpress site, but nothing comes up.

Also I have a little table and would like there to be an outline, but can’t find anywhere to put an outline between boxes. When published it just looks like a lot of space is between words.

I bought a theme from AngieMakes that runs on genesis and it’s beautiful but I would like to be able to edit the blog page so that I can have the latest blog posts beneath my image slider and call to actions. How can I do this?

I found the blog page but it is not showing a field for me to edit like the other pages.

Blog page customization in Ultra theme

I am trying to customize blog page in my ultra-child theme and add post_types ‘attachment’ in addition to posts. My main requirements are to display the latest posts and documents together in blog page , as I am doing on category pages. But my custom archive.php code is not being recognized by the blog page. Please help!

Blog page with content through TinyMCE

Hi,

pretty basic stuff but how can I do the following? I want to have a custom blog page which would show not only my blog posts using loop but as well as the content I type in the dashboard (Pages -> Blog and this TinyMCE editor). The content I write on dashboard side has a meaning of some sort of an description before showing all the posts. How should I do this?

I have followed the details found here –

for creating a separate custom blog page, as designed by acub.

As he (?) said, he did not allow for side bars.

It would also appear that the means of generating the listing has changed since this article was written (was 3.0.12, now is 3.1.5).

I have tested this by specifying left sidebar, right sidebar and both side bars.
The post extract is full width and so the side bars are repositioned above and below the content.

Can I have some help here adjusting the code so that it is correct and upto date?

Recent blog posts in a Div instead of in entire page

I’m using a theme that allows a two column layout WITH a sidebar also. So not in the sidebar but in the left of the two page columns is where I want the recent blog posts. When I set up the page to be where my blog postings go, it blows the 2 column layout out the window and behaves like a normal single column blog page. What I want to have is some content in the right column and a narrow blog feed in the left column. What I have right now is static content in both columns just so I can style the site how I want it. the site is Viewable Here. I am not very familiar with php so step by step instructions for Dummies would be awesome if PHP editing is required. Any help would be awesome.
