Css Stylesheet Not Available in My Theme

So I made my own theme on photoshop with the complete categorization of images, borders, text. After i was done i used an online psd to html converter to get my theme converted and in a .zip file.
but when i upload the file on to wordpress from the
Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload
i receive this message:

The package could not be installed. The style.css stylesheet doesn’t contain a valid theme header.

Theme install failed.

BUT i do have a style.css file in the contents of the .zip file!
why am i receiving this message?

I was able to install a child theme to the Twenty Fourteen theme, but in Live Preview, the formatting is lost. This is the text of my stylesheet file:

Hello,
I have been following a Udemy course about making a graphic. I have a domain and wordpress installed. I an trying to upload the graphic i want on my site.

The image was saved as Jpeg and then it was a zip file.

I then got a message as follows:

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Can somebody tell what is a css.stylesheet. How can i correct the problem.
Easy steps please as i am new to all this.

Omit Byline Under Post Title

Hello. I’ve tried countless ways to remove the byline from the Vaaka theme to no avail. It’s a child theme (Saga parent theme). My last attempt was adding
.post-meta {
display: none;
}
in the css stylesheet. Can someone suggest a workable fix? Thank you.

This plugin doesn’t let me make any changes when I get this plugin . Cannot believe that this plugin worth $30 just for editing CSS stylesheet . please enable the CSS settings in the free version plugin so user can edit to adjust the height/width in the stylesheet.

I seem to be having problems with the custom css stylesheet, any changes or custom css code I input into the stylesheet do not seem to be changing my site whatsoever..

has there been a change with the css input since the last wordpress update???

I am trying to install the “Sapling” theme to my site, however each time I try to do this the installation fails saying that file is missing the css stylesheet. Can you please direct me to where I can find the full Sapling coming soon theme w/ the css stylesheet included to install to my website OR direct me on how I can install it successfully without the css stylesheet?

My CSS Stylesheet Editor contains custom formatting for my site. As soon as I install Ceceppa Multilingua the site seems to disregard the CSS Stylesheet altogether. Please, how can I fix this? Thank you.

I have recently added a child theme for Point. However, when I activated it, my nav bar arrows seem to be missing, and my css changes in the stylesheet.css cannot be seen.. Please helP!

The "Edit CSS" page is gone? CSS Stylesheet Editor is completely missing!

Any idea why this would happen? It was there yesterday.
When I go to: Appearance > Edit CSS > nothing is there except the “Publish” and “CSS Revisions” info on the left hand side. The right side usually has the area where you can enter your custom CSS in now completely BLANK! nothing is there.
Please help!
