Suddenly, the “Advanced options” widget is no longer allowing access to the customizr for changing CSS.

Font Customizer, Global settings, Header, Main Content and Footer also do not work. Only Front Page Content, Menus and Widgets are accessible.

I turned off all of the plugin and it still does not work. Could there be a compatibility issue with the latest version of WordPress? I need access to the CSS editor.

Additional CSS Editor Issues

In previous themes, when using the old appearance:customize (via customize.php) you get an editor that is color coded and notes errors/issues.

In Twenty Twenty Three, this editor has no color coding, nesting ability, line numbers, or error checking.

It is really stripped down, in a bad way. If there is *any* issue, a missed bracket or semi-colon, styling of course breaks, and you’ve got to copy your work to another editor to see where the issue might be.

I can reach the good editor if I force it into my admin menu through functions.php – but I am wondering, why isn’t this theme using the well-developed editor WordPress has had for a long time? This seems like it was just slapped together, and finding/navigating to it is pretty difficult.

Is there a plugin out there or a snippet I can add to functions that will put the good editor were this one is/fix this one?

JetPack broke the CSS Editor

I’d assumed that “Advanced CSS controls” in Additional CSS was part of the W-P distro or the theme. Actually, it turned out to be dependent on JetPack.

After I enabled this option, the live-preview in CSS Editor no longer worked. (Instead, the frame displayed the site as if there was no Additional CSS.) But disabling JetPack removed the Advanced options and restored the live-preview function.

JetPack came installed with our multisite, and we don’t necessarily need it. But am posting because the instructions in the Review area say to report problems here.

Hi all,

I changed the theme of my site to SmartCube: the final result is that I’ve lost some items under the ‘Appearance’ menu.

Now I only have ‘Themes’ and ‘Editor (beta)’ items: some useful links are lost, such as ‘Menu’ or ‘Additional CSS’.

I’d like to insert some custom additional CSS tag but I’m not able to.

Any idea, please?

Built-In CSS Editor Menu Options

Hi,

The style sheets under appearance >> theme editor direct me to edit my CSS in the Built in CSS editor (appearance >> customize)

When I first click through, I see a full lest of options to select on the left sidebar menu but: header, portfolio – a lot of other editor settings

It quickly re-loads to only show a few buttons: site identity, background, menus, widgets, homepage settings, additional CSS.

How can I fix this to view all available editing buttons.

Please excuse my verbiage as I am not a trained HTML / web developer.

Absolutely love the plugin. I have been using the free version and it has saved my a$$ multiple times when a small thing about a theme would break something serious. Love the responsive ability to change settings very precisely. totally recommended for all wordpress folks.

CSS Editor Glitch

Hi! Great plugin! I found a little glitch: When loading the plugin page and then switching to the custom css tab, the css editor is all rendered wrong and is not usable see:

If I then save all changes, the plugin page loads back directly on the css tab, Or if I access /admin.php?page=cmp-settings#custom_css directly, everything is working fine.

It seems to be a problem when loading in the background (without #custom_css in the url)

I’m using wordpress 5.2.4 with only your plugin

We used the plugin and our website was attacked, causing a huge damage to our image (my company) and to my 2 sites.

My 2 sites running the Yellow Pencil plugin (this free version) were hacked and went offline by my hosting company (due to a IP shared VPS)
I paid the Wordfence Premium team to immediately run a scan and proceed to protect against this vulnerability.

But it took at least 7 days and now my sites are now collapsed in the SERP.

I was hoping to use a CSS editor to edit my Rowling Child Theme, but SiteOrigin CSS messes up the alignment on mobile devices. Do you know another one that is compatible with this theme?
