Add a "Create database" checkbox during install process

I run WordPress in Docker containers. It’s very easy, I usually have one container with Apache/PHP and WordPress and one container with MySQL. MySQL comes with user root without password, which is not an issue, because it’s not externally available.

I can easily start the two containers, do the web installation process, but it always requires a cumbersome task: create the database manually via command line or phpMyAdmin.

Why don’t you add a “[ ] Create database if it does not exist” checkbox during the installation process, to get rid of the cumbersome extra step to create a database manually?

I’m using the Windows installer for WordPress 3.0.1. Everything succeeds but it says it cannot create the database. I am installing this on a fresh build of Windows 2008 Server R2. Here is the error:

OK. I have installed phpMyAdmin – version 2.11.1, from BT’s webhosting – as per the instructions on Codex: Installing WordPress

I’m stuck at the point where I have to create a new database.

I enter ‘wordpress’ and hit ‘create’, but then get the following error message: #1044 – Access denied for user ‘marktobinc603755’@’%’ to database ‘wordpress’

Eh?

What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be so gratefully received, I can’t even begin to describe it.

Hi,
I am designing a website using wordpres. I have done quite a well till now. But I have following questions

(1) How can i capture name,add,phone,email id in my SQL database (i tried using comments but it not serving the purpose at all)

(2) How do we remove the “posted on” dates from the pages, they are not required at all in the website.

I know i am asking a basic questions, i tried a lot in the available material but could find the exct solution.

Please help.

Display 20 dictionary terms on a custom page from database with 500 terms

Hello everybody
I need to make a static custom page named “Terms”.
This page must display blocks of 20 dictionary terms per page (from a database contain about 500 terms). Also this page must contain on bottom, navigation button like next and previous page.

I uploaded the wordpress files to my public directory with the remaned install.php as instructed. However, when I try to open it in my IE browser with the path:

I get no results. What should I do to fix this?
