Needless to say, when restoring the site, this plugin simply stopped cooperating, the values where still in the settings, but the file was corrupt and would not render.
Had to move on to a more stable plugin.
]]>Renamed the plugin via FTP, all is well, except of course Stop Spammers is not in use.
]]>I contacted my web host about it, and they say it’ll be an issue with the ‘wp-firewall’ plugin. Where this came from I have no idea. I didn’t install it. Presumably some kind of hack or virus…
So I logged in to my WordPress dashboard to see if I could remove the offending plugin…
Problem is the only thing visible from my dashboard is the left hand menu. The main window stays blank no matter what you select from the menu…
So I’m stuck!
Unfortunately I’m not sure what version of WordPress I’m running, and I can’t check (since I can’t see anything in the dashboard window). I remember updating it fairly recently though.
]]>I am a beginner in wordpress so bear with me but would very much like some help if possible…
I have broken my site at log in level. The site appears and still works but I am unable to log in to the admin, i just get a blank window.
This happened when updating my plugins in batch – now I know not to do that – after 5 successful updates one froze. I tried to cancel it by closing the window. after which I was unable to get any further than the admin log in.
I have updraft back ups of everything except the database – of course!
My host is unable to find out what has happened (!).
the site is www.thedesignangel.co.uk
I expect it is a plug in conflict but am at a loss.
Many thanks in advance, have asked for advice from a few people who have tried/trying their best with the knowledge they have!

]]>We have about 8 different blog sites that are regularly posted to many times a week. In an attempt to expand these sites, we decided to move the sites to a different server, using the same host. Apparently the plugin that we used as a backup was “corrupted” and because of this, none of the posts from 2013 were saved during the transfer. And there’s no backup from the old server because it was all deleted during the switch.
Does ANYBODY have suggestions on what we could possibly to do get all these blog posts back? In all, I’d estimate that we lost about 100 posts, which would be terrible for our site’s SEO and analytics.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
]]>I have gone into my host file manager and deleted the update the suspect folder, however it has still not fixed the issue.
Any thoughts?
[No bumping – especially after less than 1 hour. If it’s that urgent, consider hiring someone.]
]]>I have had a problem with my server getting hacked. My host service and I have narrowed it down to that it must be coming from one of my plugins. I have updated the WP installation and the them and all of the plugins.
I have scoured over all of my plugins and I just can’t figure out where this hack is coming from. Is there some instruction that someone can give me for figuring out which plugin might be corrupted without trashing my whole site and all of my plugins?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have had to major hack attempts in as many days and my nerves are shot :p
