Transferring a WP site to a fresh installation with new domain

I have a site with WP 4.2. I have to change the domain name. So I’m planning for a fresh installation with WP 4.5.3 with the new domain, then transfer the old content (posts, pages, comments, author info, uploaded media files) to the new installation. And then a 301 redirection from the old domain to the new one.

I tried the default wp importer, it can import the post and pages easily, but I’m unable to import the media files (uploaded images) to my fresh installation with it. I can see that the media files are still calling from the old site.

So, I’m looking for a solution to transfer (export/import) everything properly from my old site to the new one.

Help with transfer of content

So I have 3 .json files from my previous website and I am pretty much done with the edits of the wordpress theme that i purchased. It looks exactly like the demo one I purchased.
If I import these three json files (users json, comments json, posts json), with it overwrite all the demo pictures, posts, texts, and just replace the content with the one I have in my old site? How do you import these Json files?
I only see a box to check “Enable cache”
“reload json from web if cachefile is older than”
“oAuth Bearer accesskey (passed in header when retrieving JSON):”

Create website to replace current website

Hello folks,
I have a website that has been up for quite sometime so it has a fair amount of content on it.

What I need/want to do is basically start from scratch, but import all comments, posts, and pictures (okay that’s not really scratch).

I do have some spare domains that I can use to hold it for a moment, but basically..

How would I go about transferring all the files from one domain to another and then back again?

Main Reason: I am installing a brand new theme that has a lot of functions and pre-planned templates. It isn’t working so well with what I have now, so I want to create it from scratch and import my content without losing everything.

Any tips or advice on how to go about this? I apologize for ramblyness, its very late here.

Edit: I have hostgator and have access to ftp.

Trouble Loading Past Homepage

I just transfer from Blogger to WP, but have run into a few issues, the main issue being that past my homepage, my site does not load.

I set my permalinks to default but that was not the case. I do not have a static page set and I do not want a static page. What is causing my website not to load past the homepage? What can I do to fix this?

Secondary issue: After the transfer, my posts did not load any images. I tried installing an automatic featured image plugin but that did nothing. Is that an error on the plugins end, or mine? I’d rather not have to assign each post a featured image manually if I don’t have to. I literally have hundreds of posts.

Transferring the blog content from one site to another site

Hi,

I bought a domain ‘sureshjonna.in’ last year from a hosting provider and mapped that to jonnasuresh.wordPress.com. Now I bought one more domain sureshjonna.co.in from the same hosting provider along with a hosting plan.

My question is:
I want to transfer every content from ‘jonnasuresh.wordPress.com/sureshjonna.in’ to ‘sureshjonna.co.in’. So there will be same content on both the sites i.e sureshjonna.in and sureshjonna.co.in. If I do that will there be any problem because of the duplicate content?

Old Site Content to New Site

So I have a client that had an old wordpress with tons of content and users. The site is gone and done for, by we have a back up of the database (sql file)

All I need are the posts and users, how do I integrate this into a new wordpress site?

I added the goodurbanhood domain name to wp after creating content under the domain greenhomenash (and customizing theme, adding a bunch of images to library, etc.). I followed wordpress instructions to a T and made goodurbanhood my primary blog–I know it may take a bit to see it on the dashboard. I was told by the registrar support tem of these domains to copy all files from the set up greenhomenash blog to the new domain at goodurbanhood, but it looks like my CSS broke in the process. How do I get all the content from the greenhomenash blog to the new domain name without losing the many hours of work I have done?

Loading Issue After WP.Com Import

After importing wordpress.com xml files into a new www.remarpro.com site, there are some serious loading issues. Doubling the bandwith made absolutely no difference.

I notice in the lower left corner there are a TON of wordpress.com data files being transferred. Has anyone experienced this before and is there a fix outside of wiping the content and manually re-adding it all?

Can you undo an import done using the WordPress Importer?

Yesterday I tried to import all the content from my WordPress.com site to my www.remarpro.com site using the WordPress Importer plugin.

I didn’t have enough to do this,and ended up with some things installed but most things not. Now I don’t even have enough memory left to upload a new picture to my site.

Is there any way I can undo the import, or restore my original settings, or delete everything I imported? Thanks.
