Hi! I have read several threads and online help articles, and tried all the suggested fixes, and there is still no way for a person to leave a comment on my most recent blog post. Every other post I created (at least the recent ones) automatically had the option to leave a comment. I have tried everything I can think of. I didn’t do anything different today when I created this post than when I created other recent posts, and those posts allowed comments; although now I see that even though old comments are showing, there is no option to leave new comments, despite “Automatically close comments on posts older than days” is UNCHECKED.

It’s like the ability to leave a comment has just disappeared from my website. Does anyone know how to debug this? I am NOT tech savvy, FYI, so I likely won’t understand super technical answers, but I will do my best to follow instructions.

Also, I noticed this message, “Enjoying Defender? We’d love to hear your feedback!” I don’t know what Defender is–some spam blocking program I guess. It seems new–could this be affecting my ability to activate comments?

Comments not showing up with AJAX but “load with page” works

My comments are no longer showing up with the setting “Initiate AJAX loading after page.” During my troubleshooting, I noticed they DO show up when I “load with page.” When I use the “Display [View Comments] button” they do not load when I click the button.

Another thing to note is I’ve tried disabling all other plugins and also switching to the default theme, tried different browsers, used my phone, etc. The comments were just not displaying (despite showing the number of comments). The only way I can get them to display is by having them load with the page, but this slows down load time on posts with a lot of comments.

Also FWIW, when comments were displaying using “load with page” – the sorting functions for most voted or new/oldest weren’t working either.

I’ve disabled WP-Discuz and all the comments appear with the default comments.

Is there something I’m missing?

Hi.
I have had comments on my privious posts on my blog. But now, suddenly the last two blog posts does not show comments. I have clicked on “show comments” and “Allow Pingbacks & Trackbacks” and also under settings/discission I have had marked “Allow people to post comments on new articles” from the beginning.
It looks like on the last post it looks like there is just white space where the comments space should be, and for the blog post before that there is no space at the bottom.

So what can I do?

P.s.
I am using the plug in Optimizepress to create my other pages, but the blog posts are made directly from the WordPress dashboard.

Hello

I really hope someone can help me with this. I have searched high and low on the internet and still found no fix for this.

The comments section isn’t showing on any of my posts.

I have checked the ‘allow comments’ in the discussion box on the edit post page and the ‘Allow people to post comments on new articles’ within the settings menu.

I’ve also tried deactivating all plugins to see if they’re affecting it, but still the same issue.

I have contacted the theme author about it but they told me it’s a WordPress issue.

Please help me understand how to fix this.

Hi Is this best practice? Twenty seventeen does not show comments as standard, So I have used a custom link to the first post in the blog, titled ‘News & Discussion 2’which does show the comments. Will this function normally as the Blog page?

Hi there! I am using BRITT theme and it’s great. However I have one small issue with comments.
Few days ago I received my first post comments but in the actual page they are not showing. Comment only shows an link to author’s site. How can I change that so my comments can be seen.

I am having the same problem I have enabled comments on the committee page, but it does not show anything? I am using the theme Lightning theme. However it does not seem to work. https://www.greavesclub.com/committee/
Would you guys be able to help me figure out what is causing it?

Pending comments not showing

Hi.

My website is simplynatureplusnurture.com

For the past month I’ve not been able to view my pending comments. It says I have 48 pending comments, but when I try to view them, it is a blank page that says “No comments awaiting moderation.”

Tried deactivating all my plug-ins, to no avail.

Any solution is greatly appreciated. Also, I am not very tech savvy and have very little knowledge of web coding. The simpler the solution is described, the better!

Wp comments, jetpack comment plugin, wpdiscuz comment plugin, and disqus comment plugins do not work on my website. My comments are enabled on posts and pages. But are not showing up on my CPT I have created through this plugin.

I have checked they are correctly enabeld in the CPT post. In Settings -> Discussion. As welll as where it is required in my theme
