Request for Phone Admin Users’ Upgrade of Comments Moderation

Below is a screen capture showing the wasted white space to the left and right of the Comments Moderation form on a phone.

The non-signed-in phone comments are perfect and are all at full width, as is the desktop version.

It is only the phone signed-in version of the comments templates that have issues, and just seems to have been forgotten about over time.

I also ask if the contents font on the Phone signed-in comment moderation pages can be increased a little too?

As far as I can see, the contents font is 100% @ 13px. An increase to around 16-17 (max) may be suitable.

Allowing SOME users to bypass comment moderation

I want some (non-admin) users to be able to have their comments automatically approved, bypassing moderation, while everyone else is moderated. I have looked and looked and don’t see a way to do this, not even through plugins. Where do I start?

Just remember to change the Admin-Name in the plugin settings, and you are good to go. Easy as that.

Plugin is posting comments

When I use Broken Link Checker to “Edit URL” on a specific page, I will then get some new comments on that page under my Comment Moderation panel. The “Author” is the name of one of my posts, and the comment itself is an excerpt from my post. This is super weird. I keep just trashing the comments. Does anyone know why this is happening?

It only happens after I use Broken Link Checker to edit a URL.

Editors can’t moderate comments

Hello, I’m trying to create an account with the Editor role to moderate comments, but when I’m logged into that account, the usual comment moderation options do not appear when I hover over comments with my mouse pointer. Moderating comments with an admin account works as expected. I’ve installed the User Role Editor plugin to check if edtors have the moderate_comments permission, and they do.

My biggest problem is getting spam comments on my blog. This catches a small portion of the spam comments. I’m still having to mark loads and loads of them as spam every day and may have to lock down my moderation in addition to having this plugin. Hopefully, the plugin is continually learning from which comments I mark, but as of now it’s not as stress free as the previous spam catcher I had on my site.

This perplexes me greatly. “Comment author must have a previously approved comment” in Settings/Discussion is checked. There are no words which trigger moderation, and no blacklisted words. It is not required to log in as a user to comment. And yet I have two users who are always sent to the moderation queue, though each of them has well over 100 comments so far.

One of them has a URI which resolves to an IPv6 IP — but then, so do many others. And one of them works at the same place I do, so if she’s at work, she’ll have the same IP that I do during the workday. (We’re both high enough in the corporate hierarchy to avoid getting in trouble for this, she higher than I.) I have been unable to find any settings, either in WP or in Akismet, that could fix this matter.

Versions used: WP 4.9.8; Akismet 4.1 (basic, paid).

Comments held for moderation even if previously approved

Hi,

I’ve included the link to one post above, but I have these problems with comments on all of my posts.

1. No matter how many previously approved comments a person has, all comments are held for moderation.

2. When someone submits a comment, they don’t get any kind of message telling them their comment has been submitted, or that it’s being held for moderation. It just disappears.

3. I get no notification about new comments waiting for moderation. The only way I know there are comments waiting is if I log into WordPress and go to the Comments page.

I’ve checked all of my settings over and over, turning them off and on and I still can’t figure out why this is happening.

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi, I installed your plugin to show comments (at courses10.com) that I have in a another website (projectmanagers.org). That website is using the standard Facebook Comments plugin:

That works perfect:
https://courses10.com/testimonials

The problem is that when I visit the Facebook moderation tools in order to remove one comment, it only show the comments posted in the Facebook Comments plugin (via projectmanagers.org) but not the ones added with WpDevArt Facebook comments (via courses10.com).

So, I am not able to moderate the comments posted via WpDevArt Facebook comments plugin. How can I moderate these comments?

WordPress interfering with Comment Moderation

I have comments moderation set to ‘author must have a previously approved comment’. This worked fine till I installed Wordfence on my site. Now I have to approve all comments from visitors who have commented in the past.To be sure, I have deactivated all plugins and re-activated them one by one. When I activate Wordfence, all comments (tested by me) go to moderation. I can’t figure out what settings I have to change in Wordfence to go back to ‘author must have a previously approved comment’. Could I please get some help with this? Thank you!
