What would be the best approach to make the front page show the posts listed in two columns rather than one, please?
I’m aware it involves modifying the code in index.php
and the main stylesheet, and I’m OK to try to do that. Just not sure what’s the safest and hopefully fastest way to achieve that, and I was hoping that you may be able to give me some directions.
Many thanks again.

What is the best way to do it?
Thank you in advance.
]]>1. Can we update on a higher version that the source code isn’t affected or is it always be updated in general, version independent?
2. Obviously we are using a lot of WooCommerce plugins. Can we update them without affecting the WooCommerce source code?

]]>I am not versed in the technical aspects of wordpress at all so please bear with me.
I have a scroller theme website for our photography business. In our portfolio we have a problem with the portrait image being far to large for the screen. The landscape images fit just fine.
The advice that I have been given is that it may be to do with the code relating to the height/width constraint.
We have contacted the theme author who gave us advice on resizing images. This is not the problem and we have tried everything in “edit Images” and have tried a million things in photoshop.
Please help!

I,m using midway theme. I have deactivated all plugins, changed theme to twentyfourteen. Tried out on a fresch wordpress installation. Nothing helps.
It works on another site I′ve not yet updated.

Is this a known problem? Please can you tell me when you noticed this and started working on it. I can′t imagine it is only me that is having this kind of problem.
Thanks!

Here are some of the changes I want to make (there will probably be more as I go on, but this is a good start to give you the flavor of the types of changes I’m going for).
-Logo: My logo makes a nice banner, but not a nice thumbnail. I really would like my logo to stretch across the top of the page above the navbar.
-Navbar: Speaking of the navbar, I would like to even it out a bit. Categories will come and go, so I’d like to be able to shuffle things around to keep a nice flow to the header area. I have currently 10 navigation links, I would like to do 2 rows of 5 each if I have to keep the same width. It would be really cool if I could stretch the navbar to match the banner above it. (Ideally these would both fit neatly over the entire blog, from left sidebar to right sidebar.)
-Random Icons and Titles: For the posts, I don’t need any icons next to it. The RSS feed would be nice just being an icon unto itself without the added title with *it’s* icon too. I really *really* don’t want a file icon and “Category Archives” before my list of posts under a category.
I’m not afraid to tackle CSS, but I’ve never worked in someone else’s files before (always made my own) and would like some direction so I do things properly. I like clean and organized mark up as much as the next person.
Is there a place to view or adjust the HTML within the Cadmus Theme? Right clicking the actual web page and viewing the source obviously does not allow you to edit there, but is there a way to do it someplace else?
I have gone through the Editor function line by line and no luck. Any help would be great.
Thanks~
