The next logical solution to look for is replacing the on page links with cloaked or shortened links. I have already heard personally from Thirsty Affiliates and Pretty Links both of which claim to not offer the functionality I need. I simply asked if their plugins could scan all posts for external links, save those URLs in a database, and replace the URLs in the content with ones to a page on the site in robots.txt blocked directory with a redirect to the external destinations. No plugin can honestly call itself a useful cloaker without this feature but no plugins in the WP directory which promote cloaking have it.
Now I am looking for simply URL shorteners but am finding such features limited to just internal links. Jetpack for instance offers a shortening feature but it won’t shorten external links. It only allows for shortening of on site links for the purpose of sharing. I need something that will scan all my posts and replace all external href attributes with shortened ones.
]]>If you have tens of thousands of external links this means you need a plugin which will automatically scan the body of every post and convert all external links to cloaked links.
Surely I thought this would be the most common feature of cloaking plugins but I seem to be wrong. Every one I have tried so far only lets you manually add new links to be cloaked using a form. Some appear to advertise the functionality I seek but stop short at offering a free trial which I require to see if the advertised functionality is in fact what I need.
What plugin can both automatically cloak all old external links and has a free trial or is better yet free?
]]>Before, I used the premium versions of different affiliate link plugins. Many of them just did not work well on a Multisite install, or they were messing around against WordPress guidelines.
Thanks for publishing this great plugin!
]]>We are trying now to import a CSV file with the import/export function in the plugin. The plugin is reading the file well (we are seeing the first 5 rows of the CSV file) and we are able to select the columns where we want to put the data in, but when we are choosing for import we are ending in a screen with the text:
Links imported:
But unfortunately, no single link is imported. Can someone please help me out?
]]>An example is RealClearPolitics.com. The url on Google shows this page: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/2021/06/10/yet_another_media_tale_collapses_544705.html
Visiting RCP directly redirects to https://greenwald.substack.com/p/yet-another-media-tale-trump-tear.
Is there a way to accomplish this?
]]>I am using the advanced ads pro version with all plug-ins. But I can not activate cloaking. In settings for tracking is no checkbox to activate it. Either in the adds setting for each add. It’s an actual wp version 5.7.1 with woocomerce installed. I use a other plug-in with cloaking for links out of woocomerce products, but this is a different url. Do you have any ideas? Thank you.

]]>You can find the Google listing by typing “Casanova Carpet Cleaning” on Google.
The tricky part is that it only redirects the first time you visit the site, so it’s hard for me to check if the problem has been fixed. Ive cleared my history, cookies, cache, etc. and it still doesn’t redirect like the first time. What’s a way I could check over and over to see if I’ve actually fixed the problem? (Very important)
I’m having this same problem with all my WordPress sites hosted on GoDaddy which are also linked by my Jetpack account.
I’ve read that replacing the htaccess file with the default htaccess file could fix it. Is it a good idea or will it crash my WordPress Site?
If you guys know a fix please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
]]>After our latest relaunch in the middle of december the tool seems to have a conflict with our new setup. From this time there are no clicks registered at Awin any more.
As in Your Wiki described we did all the tests – got green light for the right setup and functionality.
As a common way for affiliate sites we′re cloaking links from our partner and also every Woo product – as You can see here pretty good : https://faunt.de/afb-social-green-it
This setup is working good for every other network we use. Could it be a problem for ‘Convert-a-Link’?
Hope to get some response here soon – as we are losing clicks / revenues every day.
Thx & all the best for 2021 / Sascha
