Hello,

I’ve used Redirection for years with no problem…but maybe I have never understood it.

I decided to add category to my url on oll my posts, so in Settings> Permalinks I changed to /%category%/%postname%/ instead of just post name.

So then I thought I should add a redirect to each post separately: from postname to > category/ postname.

So source is https://donnabarstow.com/give-your-date-what-she-wants
Target is https://donnabarstow.com/odd/give-your-date-what-she-wants/

I’m getting a lot of 404s and no traffic.

Also, Statcounter is registering 3 hits for one click, so I think something is wrong.

Is WordPress redirecting on their own, so I didn’t need to redirect over 100 posts?!

Please help.

Hello,

i would like to change the permalink of the products in my woocommerce site. I have installed the yoast SEO Premium. Now the structure of the product url is domain/product/product_name and i wanna change it to domain/shop/product_category/product_name. I have already published 4000 products. Also my site is connected to Google Analytics, Google Search console, Google Ads and other sites. My problem is that if i change the permalink structure it will create problem to these connections i referred above. With the yoast seo plugin if i change the permalink of product url it will create automatically redirections to the new url that will be saved to htacces file? If it doesn’t then i will have serious problem until my site is indexed again by google search console.

I use elementor free version, astra theme.
I created Home page but somehow permalink is https://domain.com/home
I can’t find a way of changing to https://domain.com

Elementor > Tools > Replace URL does not work

How to change “news” in Permalink

Your documentation says

Please make sure that Permalink link should not be “/news” Otherwise all your news will go to archive page. You can give it other name like “/ournews, /latestnews etc”

but I don’t see anywhere during installation how to set it. Is this related to creating a page for the News? If I don’t create a page, what happens? I tried creating a page and gave it a slug ‘lnews’, it didn’t help. I don’t understand it at all. How will your plugin know what the page slug is?

I can only change the last part of each news permalink but the “news” appears before all permalinks by default. How do I change that? I have placed a short code on my home page and when I click on those news items I get 404 error.

Hi,

I need to change the permalink for a page that is no longer in use. How can I do this? When I try to edit, it only allows the last part of the link to be edited.
I am a novice with both wordpress and pagebuilder, so apoplogies if it appears to be a silly question!

Permalink Plain change to Date & name. Will Plain still work?

I am using Permalink “Plain“, and wish to improve my SEO rating. I want to change to “Date and name“.
But I have hundreds or thousands of “Plain” permalinks embedded in posts from the last 10 years.
So lets say I change to this permalink format:
https://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-blog/2017/05/01/sample-post/
and that works fine.
But then I have an embedded post in my blog (or somebody else has out on the net, where I probably have tens of thousands of links to my blog referenced) and somebody clicks on this one:
https://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-blog/?p=5

Will it still work? In other words are these two links the same?:
https://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-blog/?p=5
https://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-blog/2010/01/01/my_fifth_post/
(these aren’t actual posts, just hypothetical)
And can I just change the Permalink Settings, see what happens,, and if it doesn’t work like I want, then change back?

How to change a page url

Hi,

I want this url https://celsius.com/the-science-2/ to be https://celsius.com/science

Q1: will changing the permalink on the Page itself be sufficient?

Q2: when you type in https://celsius.com/science now, it redirects you to a dev page that looks nothing like the https://celsius.com/the-science-2/ page. so if i change the permalink on the page itself, how will that affect the redirecting of celsius.com/science to this dev page? i don’t want visitors to see this page now because it doesn’t make any sense anyways.

If I change a pretty permalink, shouldn't references to it change??

When does a pretty permalink become final? I have a pretty permalink structure. I have a bunch of posts in edit, which cross-link to each other. I changed the permalink of one, eg from “meditation-mindfulness” to “meditation-Bristol.”

I really did expect that the change would automatically propagate through the blog, so that other posts that refer to this one would automatically get the new slug in the relevant links. That didn’t happen, the links kept the old slug.

I am puzzled. Should I be puzzled, or am I imagining that something happens that in reality does not?

Is there a way to clean up and change urls for events on My Calendar? For example, having the event name/title as the permalink instead of the following – https://vegasclubguides.com/events?mc_id=1

Disable the on-click URL redirect from a category page

Hi,

I want to disable the URL links when you click on the product images and headings in a category list page I have created. Is there a way to do this. The URL that the user automatically gets directed to .i.e mywebsite/product/myproduct does not exist and I do not want to create a products page or page for each item. is there a way to customise this permalink? https://www.miravel.co.za/product/miravel-sauvignon-blanc-2011/

I am not using the standard themes supplied but I have got the plugin to do the necessary processes that I need. The category page is https://www.miravel.co.za/wines/order-wines/
