How can I solve my problem?
Best Regards
]]>Steps I have followed:
1. Copied all files/folders (FTP) from the original site to my computer.
2. Exported DB from old site.
3. Created new DB on new site (subdomain as temporary holder)
4. Imported the DB (exported in step 2)
5. Viewed/verified the content within the DB. It has what I expect.
6. Edited the options table to represent the new site URL
7. copied all files (from step 1) from my computer to the new site.
8. edited the wp-content.php file on new site; putting the new DB info. (db, username, password, etc)
Now when I try to load the new site, I see a “defaultpage” that indicates the domain is already registered and in use. I cannot sign in to edit links or see the dashboard, etc. (I believe it is referencing the old site)
How do I fix this, so I can at least see the main page so I can get to updating the links inside?
]]>1) How can I change my host and transfer my domain to a new host?
2) How can I back up and restore everything I have on my wordpress site?
I’m a complete newbie to websites so please feel free to dumb down your answers for me.
]]>I am hoping to move my WordPress website, to a new host, with a new (temporary) domain. I am wondering how I can modify the back up to allow for this new domain, without changing it in wordpress settings as I do not want the current website to experience downtime. It is a large 5gb website, so I really don’t want to change URL settings, download and change back as this could cause serious disruptions.
Also, the home directory with the new host is named differently, i.e home/abcdefg8 instead of home/abcdefgh – I am assuming this will cause issues?
Any help or advice would be appreciated, I am struggling!
]]>I need some Help to fix my site after change the host.
I downloaded the entire website and mysql database.
Uploaded and imported the data and now the site only shows the front page.
Cant login via wp-admin or open any other pages.
the error is:
Warning: require_once(/home/borapecas/borapecas.com.br/wp-admin/includes/admin.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/borapecas/borapecas.com.br/wp-admin/admin.php on line 82
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/borapecas/borapecas.com.br/wp-admin/includes/admin.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php5/lib/pear’) in /home/borapecas/borapecas.com.br/wp-admin/admin.php on line 82
You can try by yourselves www.borapecas.com.br or borapecas.com.br/wp-admin
I’m working on the issue right now but a little help would be great.
Thanks in advance.
]]>I am migrating a WP site to another hosting company. The guy that runs the previous hosting company told me that there was no control panel (cpanel) because that hosting was a different and special one from wordpress (I don’t really believe him). The thing is that he only shared with me a way to access the files via FTP and there is apparently no way to get a .sql or .gz database because there is no Cpanel.
However I don’t know how to move the WP site that way. I would normally just create a backup via Phpmyadmin and then import it in the new hosting Cpanel.
Could you PLEASE, help me figure this out? Is it possible to create a database with a WP plugin and import it via Cpanel in the NEW host?
How can I do this migration?
Thanks!
]]>All I changed from the old host is that the website was previously in a folder call www.techprincess.it and now it’s in the public_html folder.
After all these steps, I have a blank website and I can’t login to WordPress because it seems my previous user is not there.
I’m really really desperate.
Any suggestions?
]]>I purchased a multisite wordpress website:
stack52.com
strength.stack52.com
hiit.stack52.com
weightloss.stack52.com
I backed up cpanel using the backup wizard. I uploaded the backup to my new host, and they unpacked it and replaced the previous “empty” cpanel.
I then changed all the name servers in my domains to the new hosts name servers.
Some of the pages will load, but some will not.
These load:
stack52.com
strength.stack52.com
weightloss.stack52.com gives this error “https://weightloss.stack52.com/” but the favicon works!
Many of the pages in strength.stack52.com also give that error. The previous owner rebuilt his site and has a lot of 301 redirects. Many of the pages with redirects are broken (but some work).
When I try to log into strength.stack52.com/wp-admin,
I get the following error:
“Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”
The support at my new host tells me:
“If you run the search and replace for the server name the domains stayed the same but the connections are still pointed to the old server.”
They directed me here for help.
I would deeply appreciate any help.
Thank you,
Kurt
]]>My main issue is I have no idea what to do. I would prefer my site to stay as it is with regards to its look and ease of admin. I’ve seen stuff about installing wordpress. Do i still need to do this even though the site is already running? Is it as simple as changing the DNS to the new host and then logging into my site through wordpress site admin?
I’m a little confused here and would love some help please. My site is www.reflectdreamlive.com. Thank you.
