I have website with 3 languages and 3 domains on the single directory root.
Its working good but… I have to figure out redirect chain.
When the option “Monitor changes to posts” and/or “Monitor changes to pages” are enabled. Everytime the slug changes, a new redirection is created, but the previous ones are not updated to redirect to the latest URL. Shouldn’t this be the default behaviour?
Currently after multiple slug changes the redirects are:
Expected behavior:
The problem is that there are multiple redirects. E.g. when someone visits /blog/new-post-slug they are redirected to /blog/new-post-slug-1 and then to /blog/new-post-slug-2 and then to /blog/new-post-slug-3. Instead of being redirected directly to /blog/new-post-slug-3.
Also when the post/page is finally deleted, the previous redirects are still active even when monitoring trash is enabled.
Is this how the plugin works or do I have something wrong in my configuration? Does my understanding (expected behavior) make sense?

Remove the following redirect chain if possible:

What settings need to be activated to avoid those “Error” Messages?

]]>Recently I have been working on improving page load times, however there is one item I can’t seem to improve – “Minimize redirects”. Today I have whittled the issue down to the Google Analytics plugin. As soon as I disable the plugin, the redirects disappear and my performance grade goes up. The grade for this specific item goes up to A 100.
I’ve been using Pingdom’s tool and here’s the output from the “Minimize redirects” box:
Grade: C 75
Remove the following redirect chain if possible:
https://stats.g.doubleclick.net/r/collect?…
https://www.google.com/ads/ga-audiences?…
https://www.google.se/ads/ga-audiences?…
Have I got the plugin configured incorrectly or is this expected behaviour?
Many thanks,
James
I really like your Plugin and i have a question or maybe a feature request. Ive a News Website which gets updated daily. So some of my Redirections have becoming Redirection Chains.
Is there any way to fix these? Maybe through the mysql database? To “kill off” the redirection chains and redirect it to the newest ones? The Broken Link Checker has that Feature but ive no clue, how to get it working with your redirection plugin.
Sincerely
Stefan

]]>I have some data that I need to categorize in 3 parts. For example, one item may be in Category “Farm Products” / sub-Category “Dairy” / sub-sub-Category “Cheese”.
I am looking to have all top-level Categories (Farm Products) display on a page and upon clicking one, it brings you to a page listing that top-level categories children (Dairy). And upon clicking that (Dairy), it brings you to a page listing the next line of children (Cheese).
I’m wondering how I can display this, page by page.
Any hints or suggestions on where to look or how to start is very much greatly appreciated. Thank you
