I’m trying to create a category page that shows the posts in a grid of 2 columns. I’ve followed the instructions at https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-create-a-grid-display-of-post-thumbnails-in-wordpress-themes/ but it’s not working out for me. Is there some conflicting code in the twentyfourteen theme that may be the issue? This is the page I’m trying to get in grid format: https://austintroya.com/blog/category/for-sale/

Need help picking a theme that has a simple lay out that has categories built into the navigation bar on the top of the page.

Giving themes a specific theme.

I’ve been using a plugin called GYS Themed Categories, which let me change the theme for any Category.
I used this with another plugin, called MyArcadeBlog, so that I could have a regular homepage and the games section had a completely different theme.

However, the plugin no longer works in WordPress 3.1.

Does anybody know how I can do this, either by another Plugin or an edit?

Hi!

I have now managed to make a categorys posts look different when you click the category in the sidebar. But on the frontpage the posts still looks like all the other ones.

So basically I have managed to customize how the posts are looking on the categorys page, but on the frontpage they don’t show that way.

Is there a way to make them?

Please help!

Inuit Types: Category-Specific Templates?

In Inuit Types, I’m trying to have one category display the two-column option the theme admin allows, while having all other categories display the one-column option. Any suggestions on what the best coding would be and which .php docs in Inuit Types would need to be edited to accomplish that?

Custom video category theme

I want to have a normal wordpress theme for the wrest of the site. Just since we do videos as our main content I wanted to set the main wordpress page to a category page. However I wanted this page very minimalist, and just show the latest video from the category and back/forth arrows + main nav links. Theme wise I know you can do that all minimalisticly, but how you do it solely for that page? Meanwhile the wrest of the site is completely “normal” theme, were would would have our blog and whatnot…
